i am so unbelievably glad that fleetwood mac moved on from blues rock, because this is genuinely dreadful. somehow more boring, ear grating, and repetitive than their previous foray into blues rock. doesnt help that the album cover also sucks dick and balls. MOVE ON!
the first album by now legendary fleetwood mac is... whatever. granted, i have almost no experience with listening to blues in any capacity, but i was pretty bored the whole way through, if im being honest. i dont really have much to say about this, it doesnt give me anything to talk about really. i did really enjoy shake your moneymaker, and i really didnt enjoy the song before it. the rest of it is just, mediocre and repetitive
i dont know what this album cover is but i cant see it as anything other than a severely underweight cow with two buttholes
sigur ros goes dark! but also not really?! but its still dark! but its also still sigur ros? i feel like they had an idea in mind going into it with being all dark and moody and whatnot, but they dont really stick the landing in terms of that. i liked it, certainly a nice change of pace for sigur ros, but it would have benefitted if they really went all in on being ... read more
probably speaks volumes that the second recommended song on this is sigma boy
lil wayne in 2025 💔
to his credit, he doesnt do HORRIBLE, its just that the singing is really weird and not good and the features are particularly dreadful. there was no reason for bono to be on here, genuinely. also island holiday, if i played guitar, and peanuts 2 n elephant are genuinely embarrasing from one of the most prolific rappers of all time.
despite that, welcome to tha carter and hip hop are both really good songs in an otherwise unmemorable at best and grating at worst album.
before listening i was under the impression that mckinley dixon was a woman and i dont know if thats unique to me
as ive shown by my previous statement, this was my first mckinley dixon album, and he knocked it out of the PARK! with this type of quality, this can definitely be recognized as one of the best rap albums of the decade, and i dont think i'd be pushing it if i said of all time. i hope this album can solidify him as one of the greats of this generation, and its probably my aoty ... read more
this feels like the most cookie cutter representation of the pop scene right now. on her debut, addison rae feels like she's trying to be tate mcrae, sabrina carpenter, and charli xcx all at the same time. its a good debut, especially for a tiktoker, certainly one of the most interesting and noteworthy careers for one of these influencers, but she doesnt really bring anything to the table with this one. i think if she had used some more original ideas for this album rather than taking ... read more
obligatory fuck inflo
my goat has done it again. her old producer isn’t on this for pretty obvious reasons (she cooks the shit out of him in the first track), and the difference is obvious, but the new producer did really well. this would probably be my aoty if young wasn’t on it, but i’ll let her slide since im happy and whimsical.
dave has a weirdly huge appeal, and i cant seem to understand why. sure, the music is good, but its not THAT good for him to be the biggest uk rapper, maybe of all time. i just feel like little simz does exactly what he does but a lot better.
regardless, this album is alright. black, location, and lesley are all really great songs, but the rest doesnt stand out to me at all.
it has great songs, like 2 + 2 = 5, or go to sleep, but overall in radiohead's discography this is just a filler album. this is exemplified by how it can be busy and bloated at times, and some of the tracks really have no reason to exist at all. but overall, its a great album with some new ideas for the band.
this is very clearly a 'first album' from taylor swift, and picture to burn and our song are fun and are a good listen, but the rest either falls into a realm of mediocrity or is just not very good. she already showcases that she is talented here, but nothing is spectacular or really all that notable, if it wasnt the first album by the biggest music artist alive.
hot people LOVE A Lonely Sinner by samlrc
i dont know why i didnt listen to this when it first came out. i love post rock and shoegaze, and the cover interested me, i think i just never got around to it. very stupid decision, this album is excellent. i particularly liked storge and sheep theme, they were more heavy and noise/metal inspired, which was really interesting given how the rest of the album sounds.
every music artist in the world should just stop trying because nothing can ever top this
i listened to this whole pretentious ass album and there was no birth taking place? this is false advertisement and michael girlboss should be ashamed
swans is so difficult to review for me because i really just cant articulate my opinions and what im feeling while im listening to it. it feels like a culmination of everything swans, and thats perfect for their final album of this sound. really does feel like they put the seer, a glowing man, and to be kind in a blender and this is what came ... read more
how does she come out with plastic hearts, then endless summer vacation, and then THIS? miley where has this been all this time? you dont have the child actor excuse with endless summer vacation
very good album overall with some awesome production, and the first five tracks not including the interlude are AMAZING. cant believe the same girl who made flowers gave us this peak
i will say that some of the vocals were a bit iffy and weird, and it does sort of fall off around the end in my ... read more
aoty users when jazz rap conscious hip hop (its the reincarnation of tpab)
this panders pretty heavily towards the average aoty user in terms of production. its like, trying to be larger than life and super cinematic and grandiose, and the technical ability to do that is there, it just isnt very high quality. theyre trying their best with the resources they have, but that doesnt mean its immune to criticism. give these two a real studio with actual resources and they create a modern classic, ... read more
WE yes WE are ALL in the goon squad
very good album, but a lot of the tracks tend to drag on longer than they really should, particularly GOON SQUAD. i liked saturday night wrist better than this by a lot, but the reason theyre close to one another is because pink cellphone just drags saturday night wrist down by a lot.
what charli is doing, which is im assuming keeping her old album covers in the brat style, and only changing them back when one of the songs in them goes viral (party 4 u), is an insanely cool marketing strategy and a good way to introduce a lot of new fans to her older stuff, making it like a 'quest' of sorts.
marketing genius aside, this album is really, really good. it encapsulates the covid lockdown vibe really well, and has a raw, immediate energy thats unlike anything else ... read more
