this is an album that needs no introduction, i dont think there are many souls who haven't heard boulevard of broken dreams at least once. the first four tracks, as well as wake me up when september ends, are all obvious classics, and incredible songs on their own.
this entire album is a concept album, centered around the life of the namesake of the second track, Jesus of Suburbia, and his experience in lower middle class suburban united states. while this concept as a whole is strong, it ... read more
an interesting foray into more folk-y rock for green day, but sadly it doesnt stick the landing.
before listening to this, i was excited, since id only heard church on sunday and considered that to be my favorite green day song. while that song is still great, and castaway is also enjoyable, i felt very bored while listening to this. i can definitely see this being someone's favorite green day album, but for me personally it doesnt quite hit the mark. church on sunday is still peak though
album cover is an accurate representation of what i do when i listen to sombr
sombr is one of the most recent artists to suddenly blow up on tiktok with some hit singles, and then consequently blow up everywhere else, to the point where he is now the 39th most streamed artist on spotify, above the likes of doja cat, benson boone, michael jackson, and adele. the two smash singles i heard from him were fine in my opinion, but nothing groundbreaking, so i was shocked to learn that he was as ... read more
dunno, deftones, seems pretty public, seeing how you released this for the whole world to hear
UNC STILL GOT IT
probably my least favorite of green day's 90's trio, but still a pretty good album. while it is a good culmination of their previous two albums, it doesnt really explore any new territory for the band, and just feels overly safe. while that isnt inherently a bad thing, i would have loved to have seen some sort of new progression, instead of taking the ideas from their previous two albums and combining them.
with that being said, this album is still pretty good. hitchin a ride and ... read more
this was not a momenat of silence, false advertising from the goat
700th rating whopeee!!!! :DD
im not really a fan of drone, but this was pretty good. loved the atmosphere it created, and this should be as well known as some of bull of heaven's more infamous work
this is the most hilarious album ive ever heard in my life
harsh noise wall and birdsong? count me the FUCK in
dookie if it was sad and emo
i actually enjoyed this a bit more than dookie, it's got more individual tracks that i get from it, such as jaded, geek stink breath, and of course brain stew. this is probably what i'd consider to be green day's best album, although it is close with dookie.
rooting for him, but right now this feels pretty cookie cutter, even if it is a step up in quality and creativity from his previous works.
i remember a year ago when my friend showed me a chance the rapper single telling me about some 'chance is back this is fire'. little did we know he wouldnt release a full length project for another year. we gotta stop with the dogshit rollouts from these rappers man
as for the album itself, it started off really great, loved the intro and no more old men, and theres obviously also the highs and the lows. from there, the album takes an INSANE nosedive in quality and uniqueness. tree, ... read more
yellow submarine is one of the most irritating, grating songs ive ever heard in my whole life (ok its not that bad but its not good), but the rest of this is great. especially liked she said she said.
definitely their best album so far. absolute classic, and for good reason. i especially liked burnout, basket case, and when i come around, and welcome to paradise is still just as great as it was on their previous album. it teeters in quality towards the end, but its still a fun, complete record that is beloved by millions.
similarly to their first project, this album is also mixed like shit. at least its better this time.
everyone knows welcome to paradise, and while i do like it better on dookie, its also still welcome to paradise, meaning its still great. 2000 light years away is also really good. the rest is pretty basic pop punk (but better than the basic pop punk of their previous record), but what the hell were they doing on dominated love slave. i guess they were just having fun.
what type of goofy ass hiphop beat is this lmao
only bull of heaven could drop an 87 trillion hour album of the same repeated note, follow it up with one of the goofiest hiphop beats ive ever heard, and then follow THAT up with a literal calculator.
