how washed do you have to be to add a 5 year old song to your album for the streams
cardi b releases her newest album after 6 years to show... a tiny bit of artistic development! at least she did some rnb stuff! honestly who expected anything different? the first two songs were pretty good, and WAP is a banger, but the rest is a whole lot of nothing from cardi. i guess the janet jackson feature was fine but i dont really care at this point. if you're gonna wait 6 years to release your ... read more
800th rating, and im glad i left it for this long because what the fuck this is incredible
this album is truly masterful from start to finish, with some impeccable production and bjork's remarkable vocals that tie everything together in such a perfect way. joga and pluto are both perfect songs.
it sounds wrong, but it feels right
by the time i get to phoenix is pretty well known at this point for being the 'pioneer' of 'post rap', as much as that term doesnt exist, or does exist, i really dont know. by every metric, this album sounds wrong, like this was a collection of random experiments that they just made for no reason other than for creative self-expression, and yet it still feels right. is this how people felt listening to talk talk's spirit of eden or ... read more
one of if not the most exciting post rock groups right now, maruja finally releases their first full length album, and it is one of the best post rock albums of this year, to absolutely no-one's surprise. definitely has more jazz elements than hesse kassel's la brea, which i consider to be the best post rock this year, which is a nice change of pace for me that i heavily enjoy. this band didnt need proving; theyve already proved their mainstay potential with their several excellent ... read more
definitely grew on me as it progressed, initially was put off from the vocals but after the sour first impressions i didnt mind them so much. instrumental stayed consistently great whole way through.
two incredible songs on this album, those being the landlord is dead and goodbye enemy airship. the rest is kinda nothing and pretty drab and boring.
today, i woke up sucking a LIME! how do you like that, thom yorke?
some good cuts on here, especially how could i have known and all night all day. beautiful and whimsical the whole way through, but some stand out filler as well.
this new big thief sounds kinda weird...
H.A.Q.Q. has really high highs, specifically in god of love and the title track, which are both incredible displays of avant garde metal, and some of the best songs ive heard in a good while (thanks green day). there are a lot of unneeded tracks on this, where it feels like between every smash banger, a cooldown song is inserted. these songs are definitely good on their own, and they have their place on this album, but it does drag this album down a ... read more
album of the century and the century before that and the next century
its genuinely impressive how awful this album is. the pop punk giant decides to go pop rock for their pure, uncut rock album, and pops out a dreadful excuse of an album. nothing new is brought about with the production, and billie's vocals annoy me a lot more than on any other of their albums. the lyrics are also genuinely abysmal. ive run out of synonyms for 'awful', thats how bad this album is. the only slight redeeming factor is sugar youth, but thats not saying anything at ... read more
whatever, man. i've listened to too much mid pop punk from green day to even care anymore. its better than the trilogy, but thats not saying much.
green day in the big 16
interesting concept, but its very very VERY boring, even for ambient noise wall.
i really wanted to be this album's number 1 defender. i was gonna be out here on the front lines defending sabrina from the haters just like ive been doing with kesha. but unfortunately, this album is kinda nothing. after all that stir that the album cover caused, this turned out to be very cookie cutter in terms of how it sounds. i did enjoy a couple of the songs here, especially tears and my man on willpower, but the rest was just the most basic pop album ive ever heard in my life. ... read more
when im in a boring and uninspired contest and my opponent is green day post 2010
i just dont know anymore. this album is so bloated, and frankly completely unnecessary. its a step up from uno, but thats barely saying anything, and it's barely a step up. lazy bones is a pretty good song, and nightlife is the pink cellphone of this album, and i dont particularly care about anything else on this, just that its sub-par at best and mind-numbingly boring at worst. this falloff is rough.
this is the start of the downfall of green day. this was boring, bloated, and just downright unnecessary. also, the lyrics can be downright awful at times, overly edgy for no real reason. i would have really enjoyed some more lyrical maturity from this band, especially since billie was 40 (forty) years old at the release of this. nuclear family is the best song on here, but its like finding an overcooked steak in a pile of animal feces.
im not very excited for this next stretch of green day ... read more
pierce the veil has always been a band that has somewhat eluded me. one of my closest friends is a pierce the veil superfan (its almost all she listens to), and because of that i've heard a few tracks from them, but aside from the big ones (mainly king for a day), i never had any interest in them.
this album, while being pretty good, is lacking in several areas. for starters, many of the songs are almost indistinguishable, a gripe i've always had with ptv. while they are decent, ... read more
