Unprocessed - Angel
92

I'm usually not a fan of this whole guitar-wankery type music, but Angel by Unprocessed has proven itself to be one of 2025's most creative and cohesive albums. It's an incredibly fun and satisfying listen. Legendary Spotify recommendation, and has quickly grown to be in my top 3 favorites to come out this year.

Rating: 10/10
Favorite Song: Take Me Back To Eden
Least Favorite: DYWTYLM

I listen to a lot of music. I listen from everything ranged from pop to metal to rap. With all the albums I've listened to, I can't help but praise so many of them. The writing, the riffs, there's so much to love about so many albums. But with the all the music I listen to, I haven't listened to an album that has made me feel something. I can vibe to an album, and enjoy it. But I never feel something ... read more

Lorna Shore - I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me
90

Rating: 9/10
Favorite Song: Death Can Take Me
Least Favorite: In Darkness

Yea, this is fucking awesome. Lorna Shore put out yet another banger, which includes what I’d consider their most mixed bundle of tracks. From flat out deathcore, to anthemic deathcore, to huge orchestral tracks that just feel big. If you were expecting something different from this band, you’ll be disappointed. If you expecting just flat out deathcore, prepare for lots of surprises, cause goddamn, this ... read more

AJR - What No One's Thinking

Rating: 10/10
Favorite Song: The Big Goodbye
Least Favorite: None of them

Most people have a guilty pleasure artist, and AJR has always been that band for me. But I can confidently say, that this was not a guilty pleasure listen. This is easily their most well produced, well written, and well recorded bunch of tracks the guys have ever done, and I’m genuinely impressed. The delay was worth it, the EP was amazing. The Big Goodbye is among one of the best songs they’ve made, and all ... read more

Deftones - private music
100

Rating: 10/10
Favorite Song: milk of the madonna
Least Favorite: None of them

Private Music is an example of how Deftones are still going strong, even 20 years after the release of their debut. It's heavy, groovy, and well produced, so old and new Deftones fans will fall in love with them. Private Music is a spectacle, and it shows no sign that Deftones are gonna die out anytime soon

Radiohead - Pablo Honey
50

Rating: 5/10
Favorite Song: Blow Out
Least Favorite: Thinking About You

Pablo Honey is just a very boring album. No creative ideas really, it’s just a basic rock album. While it does have its standout moments like Creep, You, and Blow Out, it is ultimately overshadowed by the amount of uninspired and bland tracks

JID - The Forever Story
97

Rating: 9.7/10
Favorite Song: 2007 or Kody Blu 31 or Sistanem (I LITERALLY CAN’T CHOOSE THEY’RE ALL SO GOOD)
Least Favorite: Galaxy

With JID dropping in a today, I decided it was finally time to listen to this record, and I blew me away. The Forever Story is JID’s story. The story of him perusing his dream and his rise to stardom. Every song is meticulously crafted, with some of the best flow, atmosphere, and production I’ve ever heard in a hip hop album. I’m even ... read more

Vampire Weekend - Only God Was Above Us
100

Rating: 10/10
Favorite Song: Connect
Least Favorite: None of them

I am floored. Only God Above Us Knows is their magnum opus. It’s a masterpiece. The band has crafted something that you’ll dance to, cry to, and smile to. It’s packed with heavy lyrical themes and incredible melodies all in this tight package under an hour that makes for one of the most relistenable indie rock albums ever

Vampire Weekend - Father of the Bride
60

Rating: 6/10
Favorite Song: Harmony Hall
Least Favorite: Big Blue

While Father of the Bride is full of maturity and interesting topics, it’s a very bloated album. It goes on for too long, while some songs are too short to grow into something incredible. It has its moments, but as a whole, feels very disconnected from itself

Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires of the City
100

Rating: 10/10
Favorite Song: Step
Least Favorite: None of them

MVOTC is the pinnacle of what indie rock can be. This record shows how Vampire Weekend have grown and matured. It tells a story of love and personal growth, all neatly tied up into a 42 minute package that will leave listeners sobbing and grinning cheek to cheek. It’s a must hear, and one of my personal favorites

Vampire Weekend - Contra
85

Rating: 8.5/10
Favorite Song: Cousins
Least Favorite: Diplomat’s Son

A more mature sounding record, Contra is anything but a sophomore slump. While it is less playful as their debut, Contra has more than its share of charming, smart, and heartfelt moments, with exciting songs like Cousins really shining above everything else. This record shows that Vampire Weekend is a prominent and exciting band in the indie rock scene, and it doesn’t look like their going away soon

Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend
80

Rating: 8/10
Favorite Song: M79 / Walcott (Both are equally as good)
Least Favorite: One (Blake’s Got A New Face)

Vampire Weekend’s debut record is almost perfect. Blending so many different genres and making it sound good is a hard task, but the guys nail it. Their debut is catchy, soulful, and ridiculously smart, but enjoyable. This one is a must hear, it truly is something special

Justice - †
95

Rating: 9.5/10
Favorite Song: Waters of Nazareth
Least Favorite: The Party

Justice’s Cross is a huge step forward for electronic music as a whole. Everything is so well produced, and every sample is exactly where it’s need to create these intricate melodies and beats that are impossible to not dance to

Vildhjarta - måsstaden
80

Rating: 8/10
Favorite Song: Deceit
Least Favorite: Benblåst

Vildhjarta’s debut is absolutely mind blowing. Their form of technical riffing and complex drum patterns confuses and impresses me. måsstaden is an incredible debut from a band I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of. Truly insane

Opeth - The Last Will and Testament
100

Rating: 10/10
Favorite Song: §5
Least Favorite: §2

The Last Will and Testament brings Opeth’s signature death metal growls back in the picture, while also keeping elements of the progginess from the other albums, creating an unforgettable progressive death metal concept album that will forever be one of my all time favorites by the band

Opeth - In Cauda Venenum
100

Rating: 10/10
Favorite Song: Lovelorn Crime
Least Favorite: None of them

In Cauda Venenum is Opeth going back to their roots in a way. This is an album that feels epic, melancholy, and grand, just without the growls. It’s a return back to form, and a flawless way to do so

60

Rating: 6/10
Favorite Song: Era
Least Favorite: A Fleeting Glance

While not as memorable as Pale Communion, Sorceress is still has tricks up its sleeves to keep the listener interested. But when those moments are done, I often found it boring and hard to get through. While not a horrible album, it’s definitely not their best prog album

Opeth - Pale Communion
90

Rating: 9/10
Favorite Song: Moon Above, Sun Below
Least Favorite: Elysian Woes

Pale Communion is what Heritage tried to be. While Heritage felt a bit messy and all over the place, Pale Communion is full of new ideas and incredible vocal performances, forming a prog album that is unforgettable and impressive

Opeth - Heritage
50

Rating: 5/10
Favorite Song: Folklore
Least Favorite: Nepenthe

In Heritage, Mikael ditches the death growls and creates an album that is pure prog rock, and because of that, only really creates an okay album. Most songs drag on, or are just boring. Definitely a bit disappointed by this one

Opeth - Watershed
80

Rating: 8/10
Favorite Song: The Lotus Eater
Least Favorite: Coil

Watershed is the end of an era for Opeth, and while it’s a strong end, it’s not as strong as some other releases. It’s super evil sounding album, but there’s one or two songs that drag on a bit long taking someone out of the experience.
