The most offensively boring project I’ve heard all year. I will forget every single thing about this within an hour. At the very least, it doesn’t take up much of your time. Every single song is the same. Octanecore has been a very dull, creatively bankrupt subgenre for a few years now, but this is the worst of it. Same song structure, same horrible overproduction on the vocals, same shitty ass breakdown on every song. Not even the choruses are memorable in any way. Just an absolute ... read more
Tried getting down with this a lot of times over the years and I just don’t hear what everyone else is hearing. sorry, but I just don’t get it. it’s the same stuff BMTH did 10 years ago, only less interesting, less soul, less creativity. There are maybe three songs on this album that give me any kind of reaction, being IDWT$, Miracle, and Concrete Jungle. everything else just blurs together in a mess of uninspired clean choruses, horrible dull breakdowns. struggling to find the words for this one. GY!BE says more with one, lyric-less album than most artists will ever say across a whole discography. i’ll probably never find the words for it. but listening to it is such an affecting and painful experience, especially considering the horrific events that took place last night at the Al-Aqsa hospital. Art is absolutely limitless and I’m so glad this album exists.
painfully mid. two good collabs on here, the Poppy one and the Health one. everything else is dull uninspired leftovers from the previous album, and the remixes are stunningly bad apart from the Just Pretend one, which is merely passable but on a collection of this poor quality it looks like solid gold. the only other thing propping this up is some solid live recordings.
