Ummmmm, what? How after at least 10 listens of the enjoyment slowly decreasing down to a 50 score, does it suddenly go back up on 1 listen? I dunno, but man does this thing bop. It has lows, but some great highs as well, I feel I was very harsh on the record for a little bit.
Fav Tracks: Arabella, Fireside, R U Mine?, Why'd you only call me when you're high?, Do I Wanna Know?, Knee Socks
Overall great release from DEP, with some of the best and most cleanly produced heavier parts in their discography, however I have the same problem with some of the vocals like on OOUITK. Especially on tracks like 'Dead as History' and 'Horse hunter', the softer vocals are not very well done and completely ruin the momentum of the otherwise incredible 'metal' parts.
Fav Tracks: Fix Your Face, Milk Lizard, Lurch, Nong Eye Gong, When Acting as A Particle
Least Fav Track: Dead as history
I dunno. Maybe it will change, maybe it wont, but bloody hell did this thing drag on. I can appreciate the music and it is hauntingly beautiful at times and it does create a great atmosphere, but it just bored me loads. I'll relisten a couple times in the future, see if I like it more, but for now its a 73.
3rd listen, starting to like this a lot more. Its not anything mind blowing its just so fucking pleasant. Like I will literally pay money to watch someone try not to vibe with this
Love the heavier parts, however the vocals on some of the more melodic rock sections really turn me off.

Well they did say this album was a grower...
Definitely deserves all the love it gets.

If I am to continue the voyage metaphor, after the pleasant, fun first leg of the ride the day got a bit murky and the sea a bit bumpy, but nothing 2 bad. I am still considering giving it a 5 star review on trip advisor, but the trips not over yet so we will have to see! Well after that small snag, we hit Sgt. Pepper's! Oh boy was this ... read more

Part 2 of the mass Beatles binge!
*I am review the two discs of this album separately as to have a break, so it does not ruin the experience.
Edit coming later
Well then. As I ventured further into my voyage of the highly revered Beatles discography, for no particular reason I stopped at the white album. I once again had no previous knowledge of the work aside from once hearing half of Ob La Di, so I went in with high hope, hoping to get my fix after slowly coming down from the ecstasy that ... read more
