Shoutout to Trippie for trying different production, but it’s too monotonous for me. Still better than his last few releases.
Honestly I love the production and the vibe on this album, but Isaiah Rashad’s presence here is so underwhelming. He’s the least memorable part of these tracks and almost every guest outshines him.
This is a huge improvement from the previous TLOP’s. Pierre’s in rare form with the production. He takes a lot from Carti but not enough to call him a complete copy. I was surprised but pretty impressed.
The 3 6 style beat definitely fits Duke Deuce but not so much Rashad. Still looking forward to the next album
Really underwhelmed. Duke is continuing to revive the classic Memphis sound, but fails to capture the same highlights as he did in Memphis Massacre 2. I’ll give him points for sampling the classic Memphis party track “Paperchase” by EP
Best Tracks: Fell Up in the Club, Gangsta Party
At its best, some of the best classic Memphis revival you’ll find out there. There’s a lot of duds though.
Best Tracks: BHZ, Crunk Ain’t Dead, Fat Mac, Crunk Ain’t Dead Mob
Neon Shark > Pegasus
The vibe of this album definitely sounds like something up my ally, but the rapping is highly underwhelming. Dope beats and I love the aesthetic though. Also this dude sounds a lot like Ab-Soul.
The most beautiful song I’ve ever heard. Genuinely put me to tears the first time I heard it. Wow
A little bloated at 24 tracks and over an hour of material, Carti continues to be on a wave of his own on “Whole Lotta Red”. The beats on this album are FIRE! Every beat on this album reminds me of the soundtrack to some long forgotten Gameboy games. Carti’s vocals tend to be about what we’ve come to expect and the result is an above average trap album to end the year. While not as good as “Die Lit”, Carti does come through with a quality follow up.

More classic Memphis hip-hop that helped shape the face of trap today. While not on the level of Three 6 Mafia’s best bangers, Kingpin Skinny Pimp delivers a solid effort that it seems has been forgotten about almost entirely over the years.
Best Track: Y’all Ain’t No Killas
Wish the tracklist was a bit trimmer, but this is everything I could have hoped for from a Rico Nasty debut. She's proving her versatility by being able to go from trap bangers to experimental hyperpop. (the tracks with 100 Gecs are FANTASTIC). She's still growing as an artist, and I can't wait to see where she goes from here.
BEST TRACKS: Don't Like Me, iPhone, STFU
WORST TRACK: No Debate
While there are some cool production choices on this project, Pa Salieu doesn’t stand out enough to me as a vocalist to warrant coming back to this.
