Psychedelic Switch makes me feel like I’m an anime girl in a 1980s nightclub dancing like my feet are gonna fall off tomorrow.
It's just.... really dull. It feels ironic to criticize the monotone lyrics and singing on this album because that is kinda the appeal of Courtney Barnett as an artist. However, in her previous work, that monotone was used to deliver quirky lyrics, creative puns, and imaginative storytelling. There is none of that here. I've never done drugs like Heroine or Cocaine, but I imagine the high and addiction you get from those is exactly like what I got from this album. It's been a really long time since I listened to an album in one sitting and immediately restarted it again and again. I had to talk myself out of listening to my fav tracks for the 10th time in one day for fear of making myself sick of them.

I listen to this album when I play Phasmophobia so I don't succumb to my panic.
It feels like every album Tyler has put out has been a progression of his development until he found his proper sound, the style that perfectly expresses himself and what he is capable of. CMIYGL is that sound.
The lyricism is at its most refined. The production and use of jazz adds a distinctly retro feel to his modern flow. Some tracks like Hot Wind Blows felt like something that would play in the intro of a Columbo episode, and I mean that in the best way possible.
