The Roots demonstrate another mastery of both rap and instrumentation. This album displays a much grittier feel which contributes to their growth. Black Thought continues to hone his craft and grow into one of the greatest rappers as we know him today. The focus on Jazz instrumentation elevates the experience solidifying its status as one of the best rap albums of the 90s.
