I thought he was kinda cooking at first, but man did it fall off. This feels like a bloated, watered down version of ye, Yeezus, and The College Dropout combined, except it's like in a video game where you mix the wrong ingredients and get inedible food. Still better than Jesus is King, but definitely takes the cake for being the most mid Kanye album. No strong emotions were evoked while listening to this, except for during Last Breath. What are we doing here. What even was that.
This shit went so hard when I was 12. Still, there aren't any songs that suck, and the vocals and piano are always on point. Points for nostalgia I guess.
The fact that the album sounds this cohesive while pretty much all of the samples have an intention behind them is crazy. This must have taken like their entire life up until this point come out with this.
Second best transition on this album is at the end of Live Laugh Love.
I'm including Good Night and Bittersweet Poetry in my scoring (80 and 95 respectively)
American Idiot - 85
Classic, but gets old sometimes.
Jesus of Suburbia - 95
Perfect song progression, with only a few hiccups. All in all a banger.
Holiday - 90
Fuck George Bush.
Boulevard of Broken Dreams - 90
Classic, but cringe and edgy as hell. Still a great song.
Are We the Waiting - 70
Good-ish lyrics but overall its kind of a snoozer.
St. Jimmy - 80
Idk man this one's just fun, as cringe and derivative as it is.

Wesley's Theory - 100
This song has so much going on at once and it all WORKS. It introduces the themes, narratives, sound, and mood of the album perfectly.
For Free? (Interlude) - 100
Best interlude of all time. Wall to wall bars and an insane beat, crazy.
King Kunta - 100

I Thought About Killing You - 85
I think Kanye should maybe talk to a therapist or something, not me. I appreciate it though.
Yikes - 95
Manic episode in song form.
All Mine - 90
"Let me hit it raw like fuck the outcome // None of us would be here without cum" has to be the realest shit Kanye's ever said.
Wouldn't Leave - 70
Beautiful sounding song, but the last 5 years of Kanye's life has really soured the subject matter.
No Mistakes - 95

Feel the Love - 100
Sparse, high energy, masterfully crafted, and full of character, this song really gives you a feel for what you should be expecting from this album: something good.
Fire - 110
There's a reason why this has been in my top 5 most played songs of the year for 7 years running. It has a confidence that is self-empowering rather than braggadocious, something that is pretty hard to pull off. When an artist does, though, it's something special (see Alright by Kendrick ... read more
Beware - 110
I could listen to this song on repeat for 6 hours and not get sick of it. I've done that before. MC Ride puts so much power and malice behind every bar, it's impressive he managed to NOT summon a demon recording this one.
Guillotine - 90
It took me seven years to like this song. For some reason, I was relistening to this mixtape and something clicked. I understand everything now.

If You Know You Know - 95
This song is kinda crazy because it starts with basically no beat and just Pusha T rapping, and then it HITS. Circle round twice for the encore on this one.
The Games We Play - 100
Pure coke, pure poetry. The beat is funky and in your face, and the bars and delivery complement it perfectly.
Hard Piano - 85
Not much to say about this one. Solid performances. Song good.
Come Back Baby - 80
Some of the best bars on the album with a great sampled hook, but the beat ... read more
Peach Pit - 90
Very solid song, impressive that it's my least favorite on this project. The sound is fun and lazy and kinda sad, a good summary of Peach Pit itself.
Seventeen - 100
This song IS nostalgia.
Drop the Guillotine - 100
The subject matter isn't super depressing but god DAMN does everything else make me want to kill myself. In a good way.
Sweet FA - 95
This one is just fun. Not much to say aside from it being very good.

Drop the Guillotine - 95
The Sweet FA version of this song is superior, though this rendition is still very good and VERY catchy. Still won't forgive them for pronouncing "guillotine" wrong.
Being So Normal - 110
This song is so simple but it all comes together perfectly. Like PERFECTLY perfectly. The guitar solo is so emotional in a way that you would only usually hear from bands like Pink Floyd. Top 5 all time favorite songs.

Genesis - 95
This shit has major Genesis vibes. Like the book of the Bible, not the song. Well, that too I guess.
Let There Be Light - 80
With a title this powerful and evocative, you would expect something on par with Genesis. Unfortunately, it gets old quick, though the little melody at the end is really catchy.
D.A.N.C.E. - 100
The way this song moves is a mystery. Every little detail is expertly pruned to create one of my favorite songs to D.A.N.C.E. to.

Dark Fantasy - 100
I don't think you CAN get much higher than this song. The best Kanye opener, don't @ me.
Gorgeous - 100
This song is as the title describes. Ye delivers three of his best verses of all time on the same track, plus a great Raekwon verse, all over a great sample, masterful Mike Dean guitar, and an infectious Cudi hook. Gorgeous.

YEEZY SZN APPROACHING, FUCK WHATEVER YALL BEEN HEARIN, FUCK WHAT FUCK WHATEVER YALL BEEN WEARIN. A monster really did come alive again on this opening track.
Black Skinhead - 100
Little did we know...
But seriously, Kanye manages to follow up a synth sleep paralysis demon with a drum-driven fever dream with no synths at all, aside from some vocoding. An eternal banger.

The Starting Line - 95
This song feels like Neil resurrecting the husks of a bunch of different songs like a necromancer and forming an unstoppable army of audio. Great opener.
Floor Corn - 80
Weakest song on the album. Funny concept but it ends up boring after the first few listens (I have listened to this album too many times).
AC/VC - 90
Mental flashbang. So bad it's good, and that's exactly why it was included in the album.
