this album is marginally better than born to die. it's filled with uninspired instrumentation and lyrics that don't land. but the vocal effects might be the worst; every time the reverb and distortion is turned up my ears very much disagree with it. however, there are a few times where songs sound decent across the album, but these are few and far between. the only song i liked was the other woman.

this album brings back a childlike wonder and positivity that seemed alien to a now nicotine-addicted 18 year old like myself, but it still felt familiar and somehow fresh.
the instrumentation is so simple, yet it evokes deeper meaning. there’s a continuity akin to a blanket woven together with mismatched fabrics that seemingly, and consciously, work together to form an experience larger than the whole.
