before listening to this album, i didn’t know much about lil peep and i didn’t like what i’d heard. i’d heard the songs Star Shopping, Witchblades, Falling Down, and Awful Things and didn’t really enjoy any of them. i’d also had pretty negative experiences with his fan base. however, i decided to listen to this album regardless of my initial impression and was quite frankly blown away. peep is an incredibly talented singer, rapper, and songwriter. his voice is very emotional and his lyrics are FAR better than i expected. i love how he details himself putting on a persona of being the life of the party in order to cope with his insecurities and depression. the samples are utilized incredibly well and are taken from a variety of tracks that i love! listening to this and hearing him sample some of my favorite artists was surprising and made me very happy. there were a few weaker moments however. the feature on red drop shawty felt insanely out of place and i didn’t really like the lyrics on Girls. however, as a whole, i absolutely loved this album and will definitely return to it
faves: drive by, the song they played, interlude, worlds away, we think too much
least faves: red drop shawty, girls
