Mike Portnoy's Drums are the best part of this album. Dude is a monster.
Sadly, this album loses steam pretty quickly, with samey songs and repetitive choruses. It's also very long and the album cover is horrible, which leads to a very boring listen.
Severely underrated, and one of the best drum performances by Joey Jordison.
Eh, it’s an enjoyable listen, but how much will you remember of it afterwards?
The first doom metal song, and a lesson that sometimes simplicity makes songs great.
Classic single (and arguably the first stoner rock song) with a good B-side.
Incredible song. Massively ahead of its time, all band members are firing at full force here.
Falls off HARD in the second half, but otherwise good.
Best Song: World So Cold
Not a huge fan of the mixing on this album, It sounds like it was recorded in an ampitheatre. However, the content is great!
Best songs: Backbone, World to Come, Global Warming
Listened to this on a whim and never looked back. Deathconciousness is a triumph of independent music.
