after the revamp, its even better than it was... although i still dont see it particularly being really high, it is a good song nonetheless!!
i love the song really much. its always the nordic countries to slay somehow
middle of the road. i can see it being good with a right performance but otherwise its really average
edit: 60 => 70
it grew on me ever so slightly. still not exactly what i love but she seems lovely and its just a bop
i would consider thank u, next to be one of my favorite albums of all time, being made by one of my favorite artists of all time. ariana truly thrived here when it comes to creating vibes and crafting well thought, raw songs.
imagine - 9/10
it's dreamy and its getting the album off to a good start. it portrays a clear story - of a love that is forever unreachable.
,,Why can't you imagine a world like that?"
needy - 10/10
such a raw and honest song and one of the highlights of ... read more
house - 8/10
it kinda hurts me that people turned that while song out to be a meme because I really think it's such a different sound for charli and the storytelling here is so good. the beatdrop had me in chokehold when i first listened to it.
,,I thought it would be perfect. I thought ,,I want it to be perfect", please."
wall of sound - 8/10
beautiful track, the message it conveys hits close home. love the buildup into that dramatic, anxious instrumental outro.
,,Every time ... read more
another one of her school projects, in my opinion even better than the previous one - lush.
goodbye my danish sweetheart - 10/10
my absolute favorite song out of her entire discography. in my interpretations, it symbolizes relationship in which your partner saw you for what you could become, not for your actual self. when he realises his expectations of you don't match with the reality, he ends the relationship, leaving you to drown in sorrow due to the fact that you weren't good ... read more
lush - mitski
the first album by the queen herself. it is truly impressive how she managed to create such a cohesive and well made piece fully on her own, especially when we take into account the fact that it is a school project.
liquid smooth - 10/10
a profound song describing the way how society views woman desirable just in their youth, making the narrator anxious that she has reached her prime and it's about to pass, so she needs to juice out every last opportunity that may come to ... read more
that one is my favorite album from my favorite artist, so it holds an extreme significance in my life. its also pretty nostalgic, as it was the first mitski era i was able to experience as it was happening. of course it is my own interpretation and analysis of each one of them, but i think it has some correlation with the original meanings of the songs lmao
valentine, texas - 10/10
it opens the album so well and energetic. the first part is intricate and almost mysterious, leading up to the ... read more
fortnight - 10/10
i think that is one of her best singles. it captures such a gloomy and simultaneously vibey atmosphere and the lyrics hit close to my heart.
,,I love you, its ruining my life. I touched you for only a fortnight."
title track - 5/10
for a title track it lacks impact, it couldve been quirky but thats not the essence of that album and some of the lyrics are hilarious in the worst ways possible - by that I specifically mean the Charlie Puth and golden retriever parts, they ... read more
the start of the album mislead me so much about the way it would evolve. i found myself to be kinda not involved and bored in the starting songs, but for longer it went, the better it got. the deluxe tracks being a creme de la creme in the project in my opinion.
fav songs: slumber party, coupure electrique, mood ring (by demand), swimming in the stars
least fav songs: what you need, private show, make me...
this one is crazy buffoonery.
beginning with the way how most of the songs dont contain a single line sung by britney herself, going to the production of the songs mostly suck very much, ending on how big of a stain on britney's discography that monstrosity is. its clear that her team wanted to milk the money out of her fans in the most cheap, vile ways and i dont think it worked how they thought it would be.
its such a shame that one of the dearest britney songs to me - perfume - is ... read more
i think its a downgrade from her previous two excelent albums. this one fades in comparison, still being above the average in my opinion. the singles are hits tho
fav songs: i wann ago, criminal, up n down, scary, seal it with a kiss, how i roll
least fav songs: big fat bass, dont keep me waiting
i love that album almost as much as blackout, tho i feel like this is less cohesive than the former. nonetheless its an amazing pop album, definitely in the top3 of her best.
also, my baby in particular seems to me like such a weird song. it feels like a motherhood version of everytime from in the zone. the lyrics are supposed to be heartwarming, but i think that its such a surface level take on motherhood that it becomes cliche.
same with mmm papi, the lyrics are really corny.
i also find ... read more
now, thats where its getting amazing. i feel like this is the finest showcase of britneys musicality. its so fun and well produced. possibly my favorite album from her, containing so many amazing songs
fav songs: piece of me (easily in top5 of her songs), gimme more, radar, break the ice, heaven on earth, toy soldier, freakshow
least fav songs: perfect lover, everybody
i dislike the concept behind the songs mostly and cant find myself to get connected to the album, even tho most of the public seems to enjoy it. there are some bangers ont he album (everytime being in the top5 of her best songs), but i dont find myself to be in love with the project as a whole.
fav songs: everytime, toxic, shadow, touch of my hand, me against the music
least fav songs: (i got that) boom boom, the hook up
first britney album where i felt like im getting connected to it. the first part didnt really charm me besides the singles, but the further it went the better it got. i think its a really solid album, one i see myself coming back to often.
fav songs: let me be, thats where you take me, bombastic love
least fav songs: i love rock n roll, boys, im not a girl, not yet a woman
a bit of a upgrade from her debut but still I feel like there is something missing to me. she followed the formula of the single/title track being an absolute banger and most of the other songs feeling like side kicks.
favs: oops! i did it again, stronger, don't go knocking on my door, lucky, dear diary
least favs: (i can't get no) satisfaction, what u see (is what u get), when your eyes say it
cute for a debut, but i dont really find myself listening to it as much as the others. there are some highlights here, otherwise its kinda mediocre and just there.
fav songs: ...baby one more time, (you drive me) crazy, born to make you happy
least fav songs: soda pop, i will still love you
the album is so disappointing in its core. the promotions were promising a flashy, upbeat, even theatric approach to the sound. what we got are incredibly safe and boring at times songs. the aesthetic that the name and photoshoots were trying to convey isn't correlating with the sound of the whole project which infuriates me.
for an artist best known for her well thought and expressive writing, this album is filled with metaphors so surface level and flat that they leave no place for ... read more
