It’s impossible not to fall in love with this album. The percussion throughout the first few tracks are just spot on and really bring out the character of this album. Aumgn is a pretty horrifying experience with headphones. If you’re unsure about listening to this, just do it. You won’t regret it.
This is the only Black MIDI album I’ve heard, and WOW. It’s a lot to take in. But each song has so many different parts that you’re guaranteed to like some of them. Still is one of my favorites, I love the vibe and atmosphere. Unfortunately, I started to zone out a little both listens on the last few songs.
I’d be fine if this is the way the world ended. If I got to hear these beautiful arrangements and sounds, I’d be fine with dying. Many chills.
I love the album name and this album has probably the best cover art I’ve ever seen. 4th dimension is an absolute bop and the only song I consider playlist worthy for me.
I found the last three songs to be a bit boring.
For a song that talks about moving forward, Reborn sure does drag on way too long compared to the rest.
This was the first album and band I liked. If you were to ask me a few years ago, I would’ve gave this album a 10. But now, many songs here are boring and repetitive.
Favorites: Heavydirtysoul, Stressed Out, Ride, Lane Boy (sometimes), Message Man, Goner.
Hometown is overhated.
Some bangers. Some flops. It’s a mixed bag. Still a decent record though.
It wasn’t as bad as I thought is was going to be. My favorite song on this album (also the only one I can remember), is Little By Little. Wouldn’t say it’s worth a listen though tbh.
The Bad:
Formidable is one of the most boring tracks this band has released. Bounce Man is literally a pre school song. No Chances is very wack and not cohesive. The transition where he says, “When times aren’t the best” in Mulberry Street is weak and lazy. Choker is a snoozer. Saturday is way too pop. The whole album is a mixed bag. Never Take it is just awful.
The good: Redecorate is amazing. The Outside is a fun track. Shy Away has a nice vibe and feel to it. The last ... read more
This is a fun album. Lots of bangers. So many interesting riffs and ideas.
Such a unique experience. This was my first experience with songs over 10 minutes, and I was surprised at how entertained it kept me. Amazing sounds and everything.
Has potential to be a 10
I gave Soundtracks For The Blind a listen and didn’t really know what to think. I didn’t like it that much.
I was a little hesitant to listen to this record because of that, but man… this shattered my expectations.
I felt like I was a hero in some Greek Odyssey. This album is powerful.
Updated to a 100 from a 99. Perfect album.
Most my life I’ve only ever heard the hits on this record like ‘Come Together’ and ‘Here Comes The Sun’, but this masterpiece needs a full listen front to back, especially the last half. This is a perfect album for me.
While it isn’t my favorite Radiohead album, this album has some of my favorite Radiohead songs on it. Decks Dark was the first Radiohead song that I really loved and clicked with. It’s pretty depressing, but the quality of each song and ideas really make that easier to listen to. Tinker Tailor is my least favorite.
