Came into this after finding perhaps one of my favourite songs of all time, 'ICH KOMME', and this did not disappoint. 'Cicciolina' and 'Tääl on niin kuuma' stayed in my head for weeks, and I had this record on repeat when I first heard it. Although it has grown off me a little since, perhaps due to overplaying, the suitably titled 'Erika Vikman' is still a great debut album for Erika. I just honestly wish I understood more than a few lines of ... read more
Although my least favourite Wolf Alice album, it still holds some of their best work, with essentials like 'Bros' and 'Giant Peach'. They truly do not miss.
Overall decent album, perhaps peaking too early with the incredible ‘Rush’.
Been meaning to listen to this since it released, and decided to finally give it the time it deserves after the Mercury Prize. Fender's authenticity is what makes this album shine, his lyricism is raw and the instrumentation is passionate and full of vigour. Standout tracks for me include 'Rein Me In', 'People Watching' and 'TV Dinner', though many others could easily take their place. The only track I don't love is 'Remember My Name', I ... read more
My first experience with trash metal, and by god are the instrumentals here incredible. Highlights for me include 'Battery', 'Welcome Home' and the title track, however the album is very consistent throughout.
Whilst 'Moaning Lisa Smile' remains up there with other Wolf Alice classics to this date, the other tracks on the EP don't quite reach its heights, yet still provide an enjoyable experience overall.
My first step into any kind of metal, another album from a band which I wish did not disband. I used to absolutely adore this - 'Redefine' was my most streamed song of 2024 - but after listening to more of its kind, this ultimately doesn't stretch far in terms of its sound, with most of the songs on the record ending up blending into one another. Still is a consistent and great listen however.
Redefine: 100/100
Transition: 80/100
Sleepwalker: 80/100
Quiet Hours: 70/100

As Sleep Token's second EP, 'Two' still holds up compared to their later work. While it holds the same repetitive lyricism in places that I found difficult when approaching 'Sundowning', the great instrumentation makes up for it as usual. This was a brilliant second step for the band, with them really coming into their sound here.
Didn't think I would enjoy this quite as much as I did, constantly surprised by some creative production and genre blending, especially in 'L'AMOUR DE MA VIE' with longer run times for a pop-adjacent album which make the most of every second. The light, airy nature of 'BIRDS OF A FEATHER' and the heavy hitting lyrics of 'SKINNY' are my highlights, but this record never misses. Whilst this is my first Billie Eilish album, I will definitely check out her ... read more
Such a great album, I discovered it after Estrons disbanded and just wished they had more music!
So glad I finally took the time to listen to this album, RAYE is definitely one to watch over the next few years, her work is just so exciting. On a first run through, this record was great; RAYE's spoken word effortlessly drives you into the grand opener of 'Oscar Winning Tears', followed closely by an extremely strong 3 track run into the equally great 'Escapism'. The album doesn't quite reach these highs again, but remains consistent through the rest of its run ... read more
Can't get this out of my head. Just makes me so excited for RAYE's much anticipated second album, so glad I found her work.
A mediocre pop album made rotten by some abysmal and out-of-touch lyricism.
Coming into this album, I didn't have high hopes, given what I had seen on social media absolutely tearing Taylor apart on the lowlights of the record like 'Did you girlboss too close to the sun' or my personal favourite: 'every joke's just trolling and memes'. However, before forming my own opinion on it, I made sure to give it a good full listen or two. And I have to say, 'Life of a ... read more
Been listening to a lot of Loaded Honey over the summer, this album is so laid back and relaxing. Think Jungle but less dance and electronic.
A pretty decent and really fun pop album which only falters in its awkward lyricism in parts, usually this only adds to the charm though. I <3 You is so catchy
I didn't hate listening to this record, but I certainly didn't get much of out it either. Holds some questionable lyrics which try to be fun (and are fun in parts) but fall quite flat or awkward at times. I especially loved Tears though.
2022 me ate this up, something about this just doesn't click with me now though.
