Wolf Alice - The Clearing
96

Will probably grow on me even more, as I went from loving half of the songs on release to loving almost every track by the end of the day (after about 8 full listens). This album is definitely sonically different in its 70s soft rock approach, but I wouldn't say the departure from the harder style of rock is as unexpected as people put this album down for. Whilst The Clearing only has one heavier track (BBB), Blue Weekend still only had two (Smile and Play the Greatest Hits), suggesting ... read more

Sports Team - Gulp!
74

A great summer album, possibly Sports Team’s best. Back when I used to like Sorry (band), I freaked out when I realised it was Asha Lorenz on Cool it Kid.

Florence + the Machine - Lungs
85

Incredibly strong album with an enchanting, whimsical sound.

Wet Leg - moisturizer
80

Great sophomore album from Wet Leg with instant favourites for me like ‘pokemon’ and ‘Pillow Talk’. I am almost inclined to say I like this more than their first record.

sombr - back to friends
NR

Like this now more than I originally did. Bit overproduced but in a good way?

Wolf Alice - Blue Weekend
91

Dreamy and modern, Wolf Alice did it again. One of my favourite albums of all time.

One small thing I love about this record is the subtle transition when listening to ‘Lipstick on the Glass’ after ‘Delicious Things’, I love it when artists continue songs into each other.

Standout tracks: Delicious Things, Smile, How Can I Make it Okay?

Weakest (but still great) track: No Hard Feelings

Sports Team - Boys These Days
NR

An overall successful album with some really clever and current earworms such as ‘Bang Bang Bang’ and ‘Boys these Days’

Lady Gaga - MAYHEM
87

One of the best pop albums of recent years, a true showcase in Gaga’s ability to experiment but stay true to her core identity and produce a great record.

Standout tracks include my personal favourite ‘Killah’ (particularly in a live environment such as SNL) for its unforgiving lyrics and hook, ‘Garden of Eden’ and ‘Abracadabra.’

Erika Vikman - ICH KOMME
100

Favourite Eurovision song, period, for me. I have racked up almost 1000 streams of ICH KOMME since its release (probably doubled if you are counting the live versions and the club remix) and for good reason. I think the lyrics of this are permanently ingrained in my mind for life by now, even if I don’t speak a word of Finnish.

I could rant about this track for hours but to put it plainly, this song holds a certain power in its message, sound and performance that I’ve never felt ... read more

Wolf Alice - Bloom Baby Bloom

Grew on me massively, a standout on the album for sure.

Definitely over hated album. This album is really meant to be heard as the title implies: under the sun. That’s when it really clicked for me, and I would really recommend doing the same.

Favourite tracks: Solar Power, Mood Ring, Stoned at the Nail Salon

Sleep Token - Aqua Regia
100

Favourite track for me from TMBTE: something about the instrumentation really does it for me, incredibly beautiful.

Wolf Alice - White Horses
100

Another grower for me, love the duets between Ellie and Joel

Wolf Alice - The Sofa

An incredible song which instantly became a Wolf Alice classic for me. I have cried so many times to this.

"Honestly, it has grown on me, its just that opening track I don't fully get on with for some reason. Now, I absolutely adore the closing track, alongside those tracks I mentioned earlier. Will definitely be one I want to come back to."

"@HazelnutStudios thank you for your comment, I am going to give it another full listen whilst getting some work done. I have to say, I have had Killing Time and Death & Romance especially on repeat over the last day, and already the vocals are growing on me. I'll get back to you! Have a great day too."
