I was a little surprised to not see this single on their Welcome to my Blue Sky album. It feels very similar in vibes. I remember when this song first came out, I was just itching for them to release more songs like this, and truly did they deliver with their album that came after.
Not every song resonated with me, but when it hits, it HITS. Past Life and Want are unbelievably incredible tracks. Feels very in line with the type of sapphic indie Lucy Dacus makes, but Mik carves her own voice with this debut album. I really hope she gains more traction eventually, there is so much potential.
Really cohesive and compelling album capturing youthful, nostalgic moments in time and all the messiness being young entails. Truly an album made for the summertime and roadtrips. Extremely catchy all the way through, this album has been on repeat for me since it dropped.
Astounding how, all these years later, Nas is still out here making albums that I know will forever be in rotation for me. Truly not many OGs do it like he does.
An extremely underrated pop rock album. The influence of The Cranberries on this album is palpable, in a good way, and I'm a sucker for albums that lean into lesbian yearning territory. So many songs hit me on an emotional level, reminding me of my own relationships and my own journey with my sexuality. I've always loved how each album of Pale Wave's has a theme to it that every song sticks to. Makes each album feel like a world of its own.
