I don’t know what it is, but I wasn’t really feeling this one from Larry sadly, it’s got its bops but it’s too few.
I was actually looking forward to this album only after listening I sadly discovered how fucking boring it is. It has few enjoyable tracks but way too many shortcomings on certain tracks for me to cosider it good. It was mostly the overall vibes of the tracks that were just so off. Take "Sapiosexual" for example, what in the fuck even is this, why is this a song that exists. This album is nothing like the innovative follow up to Control System i had anticipated.
My favorite depressed rapper delivers yet another great album. Loved the Alchemist production on here too, such a smooth & near flawless listen.
Before Pusha T found himself, he can and has done better, I didn’t expect very much coming into this considering this was still early in his career and I got about what I thought I would get. It’s not like it’s unlistenable but some tracks are (Everything That Glitters), it’s a decent album but some tracks have mixing issues, sound unfinished, or are ruined by the feature(s).
As every Yeat project, the production is ethereal but in all honesty he doesn’t go anywhere with some instrumentals & the album seems way too bloated. If it was cut down by 4-6 tracks I would enjoy it more honestly. Not my favorite from Yeat, but it’s not by any means bad, he still has some work to do.
Okay, don't get me wrong this project slaps but in my opinion it doesn't live up to the expectations I had hoped. I just personally don't enjoy a few songs on here but overall its a damn good mixtape for what it is. Probably even one of the best mixtapes I've ever heard.
Edit: "Yeah" isn't on here but it would be one of the best if it was (only mentioning this since its on spotify) 75 --> 80
God the Alchemist production is so smooth, there’s a rich vibe all over this project. Sometimes it doesn’t work especially with some features, but mostly this album is a nice west coast bop.
Not going to lie, I actually really enjoyed this project. Its an interesting mix between good and evil. The features are solid, Ty Dolla Sign absolutely kills every part & the instrumentals range between ridiculously eerie to sometimes heartwarming (Don't Die). The only thing that is off sometimes unfortunately is Kanye himself, some lines just don't make any sense whatsoever in connection with the actual theme of songs but I guess thats what makes Kanye, Kanye. All in all, its an ... read more
I don't know what it is, but I'm not feeling this at all.
Yeah I really don’t know what happened, but this isn’t it. It’s such a mixed bag that I don’t even realize who I’m listening to sometimes.
Randomly felt like listening to this quick ep, needless to say its decent. Some songs I enjoy, some I don't, it's definitely a mixed bag but I know I'm not a fan of the random conversations at the end of some of the songs, if those weren't there I would enjoy it more, its just not needed.
The first Earthgang album I listened to & wow this project is a journey. FIrstly, this is an absolutely incredible album & I'm looking forward to listening to their other projects as well. For a first introduction to the rap duo they killed this, I also enjoy that they are able to have such fun instrumentals & are able to bounce ideas of each other it just sounds so refreshing compared to what I've listened to recently. Super fun album, what else is left to say?
