I'd really like to take some time to recognize 'The three fates'. The pipe organ parts are simply amazing and very very powerful, and switching between piano and organ parts is like ups and downs on a roller coaster.
The rest of the album is mostly just as good, if you can get comfortable in prog rock this album is quite an experience.
The album is pretty good. Very groovy, almost like a Beatles sound but just infused with more folk. Overall good vocals and insturmentals, 3rd track is strange though.
There are some albums that seem to be a gateway into a certain taste or curiosity in a genre. For me, in general, Dark side of the moon is what peaked my curiosity for music. This is the album that peaks my curiosity for metal/hard rock. Honestly, a solid album. I like the sound of Jeff Buckley's singing voice and the instrumentals are good. The drums in "eternal life" are VERY tight, it is probably my favorite song on the album. My thoughts are sparse on this one, it is just an all around solid album.
The only reason I rated this album low is because of the unlistenable lead vocalist. There is this weird echo with the lead vocalists that makes the microphone quality sound like absolute garbage, and the whole time the singer just sounds like he is whining. I think some bands do well with a rough sounding lead vocalist, but this one does not, the lead vocalist's rough sound is very unpleasant.
