Fun album with varying styles from track to track. Impressive playing and an enjoyable listen.
Very pretty album. Excellent melody writing and excellent restrained solos.
A lot of unfair crticism in my eyes here. Personally I think that the comparisons to previous Rush albums have skewed listeners into not actually hearing the music for what it is to some extent. This album has precise drumming, satisfying riffs and highly melodic guitar playing and singing. The end result in my view is a softer sound compared with albums like Moving Pictures and Hemispheres but it remains in it's own right as a highly catchy almost pop-rock album.
A pleasing take on the variations that differentiates itself from the seminal Glenn Gould version.
