Upon first listen, I didn’t really get this album. It wasn’t until maybe half a year later where I relistened and enjoyed it.

This was the first shoegaze album I ever listened to, and because of that I have a ton of respect for it. The album as a whole is very solid and is able to distinguish itself in such an oversaturated genre like shoegaze while still having that classic shoegaze sound.
An incredibly charming album with a lot of personality. I don’t really have much to say other than this is an album you should have fun with… go on a quest through an enchanted forest, as the album cover suggests.
Routine is honestly not that great, probably one of the worst wiyn tracks which feels painful to say because I love this guy so much. HOWEVER, maps is fucking beautiful and absolutely makes up for it. It’s a very gorgeous soundscape with some phenomenal lyrics that I encourage you to build your own interpretation on. This album is truly one of a kind. Probably the best world-building in any album, and arguably among the best world-building in any medium ever. You really begin to visualize the town of Wallsocket. It builds and builds until you realize, it's time to go home.
