20 min long japanese dreampop albums are everything to me
as significantly as songs like never meant, for sure, and stay home have grown on me even better than before, most of the other tracks have worn down further and the album feels like it has a horrible flow for the most part because of these rollercoaster-like highs and lows
I could have sworn that this was another one of phoebe bridgers' side projects the first time i heard it. The second time around I was convinced it was actually alvvays with a different name, and to be honest it somewhat still feels like it and i'm grateful for that.
On the surface alvvays seems like a (somewhat) generic indie rock band but they are truly one of the greatest musicians of our generation, and to replicate their sound is not an easy task at all. If it weren't for ... read more
haven't had as much whiplash as i had while listening to this front to back. Seems like the culmination of the leftovers of her songwriting brilliance of the folklore and evermore era (you're on your own kid and sweet nothing) and the trailer to her albums functioning more as an entertainment product and less of a display of her history (lavender haze, bejeweled, etc.) and sometimes horrible lyrics only being somewhat carried by good production (mastermind).

what a joyful album, how do they do it without sounding corny for a second
no one told 12 y/o me that they had bangers other than lisztomania and 1901
can't believe i didn't connect with this till now, truly one of the greatest pop records ever
i really dont want to overhype them but every new release we've gotten is a 10/10 this is crazy
how many pair of bangers are we getting before the album
the drums here make me wanna kms and want to live life to the fullest at the same time
i was born in the right generation i get to see mag bay dropping singles like these in real time
the way the songs fade into each other was such a beautiful surprise
bound 2 is probably his best track ever but it ruins the flow of the album horribly
