Cameron Winter - Heavy Metal
80

Cameron is such an intriguing artist. His voice is so unique and although you can of course hear the influences from previous decades in his music, his songwriting is also just as unique and spectacular. I see this as being a more chilled version of the Geese albums and there are some really beautiful moments in some of the tracks. I have only started listening to Cameron and Geese very recently, but from what I have listened to so far, this guy is easily one of the best songwriters of this ... read more

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Who Built the Moon?

Thank god this album has Dead in the Water, that is all I will say.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Chasing Yesterday
70

Another good album from Noel. Riverman is a great intro track and the first half of the album continues to be at that level. It definitely drops off in the second half for me and there are some much more forgetful tunes.

Highlights: Riverman, In The Heat Of The Moment, Lock All The Doors, The Dying Of The Light

Ringo Starr - Long Long Road
60

A chill country album from the boy Ringo. It is everything you’d expect tbh, nothing crazy (apart from choose love which is a banger) but still some good vibes. Peace and love

Highlight: Choose Love

Really boring album. Only song that I would listen to again is Chelsea Dagger

The Wombats - A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation
60

Definitely some tunes on here but overall quite a forgettable album for me. Some of the songs and lyrics I find so cringe and the first song is the worst start to an album I have ever heard.

Highlights: Moving to New York, Backfire at the Disco, My First Wedding

Just mid. I like a few songs on here but even then, they're not proper standout songs that I would go back to and play on repeat. Most of the album I found to be very boring.

Highlights: Someday, Alone, Together

Oasis - (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
100

As a Brit, this is THE album. Every song in here is like a national anthem to us. This album has Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger, Morning Glory AND Champagne Supernova all on it. WHAT DO YOU EVEN MEAN? THE GREED! Noel Gallagher is a once in a generation songwriter, Liam Gallagher is a once in a generation frontman. A special album.

Highlights: Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger, Some Might Say, Morning Glory, Champagne Supernova

Kanye West - Graduation
100

Graduation is the first album that I can remember listening to and properly taking it in. I absolutely loved it from the first listen and I have listened to it, in full, every few months for nearly 2 decades now. The sampling, which is to be expected from Kanye, is just on another level. If only it did not have Drunk and Hot Girls (and maybe also Barry Bonds), this would easily be a 100/100 album. Also, Homecoming IS Kanye's best ever song.

Highlights: Champion, Stronger, I Wonder, Good ... read more

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
100

This album is just Kanye at his absolute best. When you put it into context of where Kanye was at with his life, the scrutiny he was under it becomes even greater. The production is the best we have ever seen in hip-hop; songs like Runaway and All of the Lights (Interlude) are some of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. This, in my opinion, is the greatest hip-hip record ever made and has an argument to be the greatest record (of any genre) ever made.

Geese - 3D Country
90

I recently listened to Getting Killed and was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it. On first listen I do not like 3D Country as much but there is not a lot in it. Geese have a really intriguing sound and I think this is an album that will grow on me even more with every subsequent listen.

Highlights: 3D Country, Cowboy Nudes, Undoer, Domoto

Dr. Dre - 2001
80

To be expected from a Dre album, the production is amazing. The album carries some of the all time great hip songs like Still D.R.E., Forgot About Dre, The Next Episode, etc. but realistically half this album (and definitely the skits) could've been cut from this album. There is far too much filler on here for me to rate it any higher. If you stopped the album at The Next Episode and then had The Message as the 12th song, this album could be put in different conversations than I am ... read more

Asake - Mr. Money With The Vibe
70

Been listening to Asake for a few years now and he should be a bigger name. On this album he sounds great, the production is amazing, the Burna boy feature hits. Just overall a fun, chill album to listen to now and again.

Highlights: Dull, Peace Be Unto You (PBUY), Nzaza, Sunmomi, Sungba

Stereophonics - Just Enough Education to Perform
80

The CD of this album was always playing in my house growing up so I have a lot of love for it as it brings back some happy memories.

Similar to their previous album, the album starts off really well. The first 8 songs are amazing (minus nice to be out) and then it drops off afterwards, but restores itself with a really nice final song in Rooftop.

Overall it is a nice nostalgic collection of songs that I will forever come back to.

J Hus - Big Conspiracy
90

No skips. The best rap album to come out of the UK in my opinion. The beat selection is on point. His rhyming scheme is pretty unique, tending to sometimes go whole verses with the same rhyme.

Highlights: Big Conspiracy, Helicopter, Play Play, No Denying

Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers
90

A therapy session in the form of an album. A really cool concept and some really deep songs speaking on some very meaningful topics whilst still giving us bangers. His third best album behind GKMC and TPAB for me.

Highlights: Father Time, Purple Hearts, Count Me Out, Auntie Diaries, Mother I Sober, Mirror

Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d city
100

This is my favourite Kendrick album and on some days might be my favourite hip hop album ever. The concept, the lyrics, the production; this is just a masterpiece from start to finish.

Highlights: The Art of Peer Pressure, good kid, m.A.A.d city, Swimming Pools (Drank), Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst

The Beatles - With The Beatles
70

One of my least favourite Beatles albums. Most of the good songs are covers. Opposite to Please Please Me in the fact that this time the first half the boys are flying and second half (after Roll Over Beethoven) they could’ve just fully cut (apart from Money, that’s a tune).

Highlights: All My Loving, Don’t Bother Me, Roll Over Beethoven, Money (That’s What I Want)

The Beatles - Please Please Me
80

Season 1 of music. The second half of this album is SO much better than the first. The boys went crazy in the second half.

Highlights: I Saw Her Standing There, Love Me Do, Do You Want To Know A Secret, Twist And Shout

Bob Dylan - Nashville Skyline
80

Doesn't have the same lyrical prowess as other Dylan albums but this is a really fun country album with some great tunes.

Highlights: Peggy Day, Lay, Lady, Lay, Tell Me That It Isn't True, Country Pie
