I really like your voice/lyrics, how the song is broken up, and the instrumental choices. I do think everything gets lost in the fuzz/distortion especially the emotion you convey with your voice. I feel a massive development since Rooftop in building your sense of dynamics and complexity here. Keep it up. Very excited to hear anything you put out in the future :)
House can be a difficult genre when taken into an album format particularly in keeping an evolving and engaging sound throughout. With Lane 8’s 2015 debut album Rise really for the first time I found myself transfixed throughout its run time. It doesn't feel dumb in the moment though but kinda an in-sync sad nostalgia feeling. So I guess when I feel like that or want to I'll throw on this album. I'm not a huge Jackson Browne fan (especially when he ... read more
Apologies in Advance is compelling particularly in how it weaves in the interludes. The 12 step format does not feel patronizing and hits on some very well-thought points on the human condition. Love the flow. The beats aren't groundbreaking but have enough quirks and jazzy instrumentation to make them engaging.
