So much personality. A step up from Fear Fun in every way. Classic closing line too.

Well, I mean this album is much harder to make an emotional connection with than Benji, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm just a fucking sucker for his ramblings... But yeah I can see this album being completely un-listenable for some with good reason.
Fav Tracks: The Possum, With A Sort Of Grace I Walked To The Bathroom And Cry, Cry Me a River Williamsburg Sleeve Tattoo Blues, Garden Of Lavender, Little Rascals
I think like Bones is definitely the best rapper of all those he's lumped in with. I feel like he kinda holds himself back with the very lazy, monotone delivery that shows up on some of these songs. If he used the more exciting delivery style that shows up on songs like ReturnOfThePimp, I would have loved this mixtape. So much potential with this one there is.
Fav Songs: ReturnOfThePimp, IfYouHadAZuneIHateYou (feat. Spooky Black), HeartagramAdios
While I do prefer Life Of Leisure to this one, this album still is able to hold my attention. This album pretty much just offers very relaxing and passive synthpop in which nearly all vocals act as added instrumentation as they are also very relaxing and passive. While yes, it may not be the most rememberable album, it is able to satisfy when being lsitened to.
Fav Tracks: You & I, Amore Fati, Soft, A Dedication
This dude obviously has a really really good voice, and the instrumentation is very lush and cleanly produced. The reason I can't really get into this album is because I can't really make a connection with what he's saying. I just feel the lyrics are a little vapid. But the sounds that come out of this album are very pretty.
Fav Tracks: Repeat Pleasure, Childhood Faith in Love (Everything Must Change, Everything Must Stay The Same), What You Wanted
Even if you dislike this album, you gotta give it up to Merrill for making of the most unique and colorful pop albums in quite a while. The songs are super catchy and I love how she makes grooves and instrumentals out of her own vocal sampling. This is my absolute go to "Happy Mood" album.
Fav Tracks: My Country, Es-so, Gangsta, Bizness, Wolly Wolly Gong
This albums is a fucking trip. Other than the fact of being one of the most influential albums of all time, it also manages to have some of the best songs of the 70's. This album has a lot of repetitive and captivating synth grooves as well as a small hint of rock n' roll, and Alan Vega's voice (and screams) and downright bonechilling (especially on Frankie Teardrop.)
Fav Tracks: Ghost Rider, Rocket U.S.A., Johnny, Frankie Teardrop
When I first heard this band, I instantly thought they were the lovechild of Refused and The Locust. They have that cool Post-Hardcore/Punk edge Refused has, and a seeming kind of Grindcore-ish vocal style at times and well as some relentless fretting at times like the Locust. When when those two aspects come together, you get a fresh new sound. What a pummeling album.

It's one thing to be a great album, and it's another thing to be an influential album, and this album is absolutely both. Brian Eno brings some of the best production on an album the 80's had to offer. The introduction of looping and that extra-funky sound to the Head's sound is a marvel to listen to. Hard not to move to this one.
Fav Tracks: Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On), The Great Curve, Once In A Lifetime, Houses In Motion
We take for granted how hard it is to write such a good and engaging album that contains 23 songs. There isn't one dud on this whole thing (just a few interludes). While I love Sufjan's earlier, more-folksy stuff, I love this album for incorporating a lot more instrumentation. And oh god, when Come On! Feel The Illinoise comes in, it's just so awesome. This album will make you feel every emotion known to man at once. I think Sufjan Steven's will go down as one of the best songwriters of the ... read more
This album is one of those albums that I probably shouldn't rate because it's not made to be judged. But I will because it's a great album (I prob wouldn't if I didn't). Nathan can really write fun, catchy songs. Reppin' San Diego the right way.
Fav Songs: King Of The Beach, Super Soaker, Post Acid, Take On The World, Linus Spacehead
Growing up, I was never really a hip-hop fan, but in 2012, when I was freshman in high school, hearing this album really made me feel like a fool. So I do owe this album a lot, but besides that fact, it's a really fucking fantastic hip-hop album. Kendrick is able to vividly describe the hardships and experiences he had growing up in Compton. The flow of this album is hard to compare to anyone else's, every song is where it should be. Amazing album that will be considered a hip-hop classic one ... read more
Even though it's not technically a concept album, I really consider it to be. But I guess Kevin Barnes' lyrics and instrumentation are just so captivating, it feels like he's constantly telling a story. After delving into the background more, he wrote this album mostly on the prescription of his anti-depressents (Chemicals) which adds a little most personality to the album. I really love the funk influences on tracks on the latter half as well. Modern day classic that will always be a fav of ... read more
I don't know what it is about this album, but I consider it to one of the most heart-breaking albums I've ever heard. Whilst Owen's voice is quite monotone in delivery, you can absolutely hear the emotion and strength behind the stories. The songs are simply structured, but the name of this project pretty much implies that, and for what this guy's got, he put out one hell of a heart-breaker. P.S. Love the featured female vocals.

Originally not knowing what I was going to get listening to this album, I was blown away at the immense orchestral instrumentations, as well as the use of every instrument known to man. Jens sings from a place of childlike sincerity and honesty but rather with a Steven Merritt sounding influence in his voice. This album signifies the quickest time I ever fell in love with an album.

Overall, Earl is a super talented, interesting, and clever rapper and lyricist, but I'm a little disappointed in this album. I think this album had a of great songs and a lot of potential but ultimately has too many fillers and weak guests. I cannot see the thought process by giving SK Flare the opening verse. But, I still do enjoy this album and I'm very interested to see where Earl goes next.
Fav Songs: Burgundy, Hive, Chum, Whoa
This album should absolutely be considered a modern classic and deserves all the praise it receives. Every single song is just so incredibly catchy, fun, and clever. The strokes definitely weren't the first "post-punk revival" band, but they definitely the ones that gave it a good rep.
Best Songs: I don't think I can narrow it down. Listen to the whole thing please
A real step up from midcity. Daveed kind of reminds me of Busdriver at times when he's going at rapid fire paces. Also, I liked the instrumentals on this album much more than midcity, especially the beats on Work Work and Story 2. I think can go head to head with RTJ 2 for best Rap album of 2014.
