I think this is a great lyrical premise for a song that had the potential to be really touching, but on the other hand, I cannot look past the instrumental track on this one. It manages to turn this heartfelt folk song into background music from a Subaru Forester commercial. This would have sounded dated if it came out in 2012, let alone 2025, and this seems to be everyone else's reaction as well.
Not the worst thing in the world, but not very far off from there either.
A well-polished pop song with excellent production, but some of the worst lyrics I've heard in recent memory.
An inconsistent mess of an album that finds Coldplay sounding completely lost, desperately trying every trick in the book to be relevant and trendy, with only marginal success.
Top 3 not counting ambient interludes: Coloratura, Higher Power, Humankind
Bottom 3: Biutyful, Let Somebody Go, People of the Pride
It's January 2nd, 2025 and I'm trying to listen to one album every day this year. Why did I have to pick this one? What even motivated me to listen to this at all? Why did nobody stop me?
Furthermore, what genre even is this? Is it supposed to sound like a manic episode? That's exactly what it sounds like to me.
So many questions that will remain unanswered.

I feel like I'm not supposed to hear this.
If I could give "Get Her Back" negative points, I would do it in a heartbeat.
This album feels like a series of drunk texts ("Get Her Back" and "You're My Fantasy"), the apology immediately following it ("Still Madly Crazy" and "Forever Love"), and the self-loathing when you find out that you fucked up and she's not coming back ("Too Little Too Late" and "The Opposite of Me").
The really bad part about this is, ... read more
It's a damn good thing that the production on this album is so good, because if it wasn't, this album would easily be one of the worst that I've ever heard. The song selections are all bad except for a few, the album art is just abhorrent, and Cher and Gregg's vocals simply do not work together. This album is a failure on all fronts.

Oh my God, what an experience this was. It's the Carpenters' variety hour, featuring jazz-funk, yacht rock, show tunes, country pop, calypso, and PROG ROCK???
It shouldn't work. It sounds like a terrible idea on paper. But by God, they did it.
Top 3: Calling Occupants [...], All You Get From Love [...], Sweet Sweet Smile
Bottom 3: Man Smart Woman Smarter, [...] Don't Cry For Me Argentina, B'wana She No Home
Very rarely does a musical release prompt me to ask the question, "What the fuck am I doing with my life?" This song did just that.
The one and only point I gave to this song is because the drumming is pretty damn good.
If you can believe it, this song was a #1 hit in Denmark.
Just as enjoyable of a listen as Double Fantasy and surprisingly more consistent, despite being tragically left unfinished. Yoko's contributions to this album are fantastic.
Top 3: Nobody Told Me, You're the One, Grow Old With Me
Bottom 3: (Forgive Me) My Little Flower Princess, I Don't Wanna Face It, I'm Stepping Out
If all of Taylor's stuff sounded like this, I'd be a Swiftie, and I'd be proud to be one.
Taylor seems to be under the impression that even if she shit out an hour-long white noise album, people would still buy it, and she's absolutely right.
Top 3: So Long London, Guilty as Sin?, Fortnight
Bottom 3: I Can Do It With a Broken Heart, Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?, I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)
When I was 16, I saw this album in a record store, and I almost bought it until my dad advised me against it. Later on that day, I decided to listen to it and see if it was really that bad. And for a good 15 minutes, this album had me thinking that my dad had it all wrong. "Good Timin'" with the gorgeous Beach Boys harmonies sounding as good as always, Al's corny but touching "Lady Lynda", Dennis's soulful performances on "Angel Come Home" and ... read more
AJR makes a listenable song. I knew they had it in them (I never really did, but it's nice that they surprised me anyway).
RIP Gary.
Here comes the collapse.
No-one takes it like a friend.
All things must end, John.
Top 3: Someday Never Comes, Need Someone to Hold, Sweet Hitch-Hiker
Bottom 3: Take It Like a Friend, Sail Away, Lookin' for a Reason
Then disaster strikes.
Yes, we have all seen the rain.
But, we still chooglin'.
Top 3: Have You Ever Seen the Rain, It's Just a Thought, Hey Tonight
Bottom 3: Chameleon, Born to Move, Rude Awakening #2
Turn things up a notch!
Long as we can see the light,
we're going nowhere.
Top 3: Who'll Stop the Rain, Lookin' Out My Back Door, Long As I Can See the Light
