Love Rarely - Pain Travels

Mathcore isn’t quite my thing yet but this was a fun listen nonetheless. All the vocals were great and the riffs were really fun.

Bring Me The Horizon - Count Your Blessings

I appreciate how iconic Pray for Plagues is, and there are some interesting parts on this album. However, it's not for me, and honestly felt very overwhelming and exhausting at times. I'm excited to see if the re-record will make me like this more, since it's not a bad album at all it just needs to be cleaned up a bit.

EDIT: The album is growing on me, the songs themselves are quite good, the production is just very muddy. I have a feeling I’ll love the re-recording!

Bring Me The Horizon - This Is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For

Not completely sure about how I feel about this yet. It’s very unpolished, as expected, but also has some really cool riffs. I don’t hate it but it’s also not my favourite. I feel like it’s just one of those records you need to have a strong nostalgic connection to.

Iridium - HELL IS JUST A HALFWAY HOUSE
70

A decent album! Enjoyed the heavier parts but the melodic sections weren’t my favourite. A good listen but I don’t see myself revisiting this.

Before I Turn - Immoral and Malevolent Happenings
80

Such a cool album! I love the theatricality and haunting sound, reminds me of Ice Nine Kills. I’m also always a sucker for a concept album. The second half bled together a little bit for me but I definitely want to check out more of this band after this!

The Maine - The Maine

Pretty strong first half. A nice, chill, dance pop album with a handful of songs with extremely infectious hooks. A decent listen.

Tropic Gold - SICK TO DEATH OF EVERYTHING

A solid album, I enjoyed checking this out! Not something I can see myself coming back to and none of the tracks specifically stood out, but it was a good listen anyway.

Broadside - Nowhere, At Last
80

A super fun record with a great mix and really cohesive sound. The singles are my fave tracks along with a handful of others, but overall the album is a banger.

Bilmuri - KINDA HARD
75

Enjoyed this a lot, the album is full of bops! Not an absolute fave and there's nothing super new about the sound, but a good number of tracks stood out. I liked this a lot more than American Motor Sports to be honest.

The Plot In You - [Vol. 3]
80

My least favourite of the trilogy but I still enjoyed it a lot.

The Plot In You - [Vol. 2]
85

Loved it as much as Vol. 1, the heaviest track is once again my favourite.

The Plot In You - [Vol. 1]

Wasn't blown away on first listen but after re-listening this is actually quite excellent. Not rating it higher only because the EP feels too short to actually sink your teeth into with tracks this good.

Adestria - Chapters
95

A very fun album. Love the hardcore elements and the theatricality. Has a good variety in the tracks as well.

Dermot Kennedy - The Weight of the Woods
75

A very gentle and calming album, with a mix of Noah Kahan and Ed Sheeran vibes. Nothing outrageously new or unique but a beautiful listen all the way through that I'd highly recommend.

Moodring - death fetish
90

Super fun to listen to, one of my fave releases so far. A couple of chiller songs help add some variety, and there’s a bit of a party sound which I love.

Wage War - STIGMA
75

Enjoyed this a lot more on first listen, but it doesn’t stand up on re-listen. Still a very fun album with a lot more pop elements than I remembered.

Gaerea - Loss
80

Overall a very good album, I loved the singles but the other songs didn’t stand out too much.

The Gloom in the Corner - Royal Discordance
95

Easily one of my favourite albums of the year so far.

Shoreline - Is This The Low Point Or The Moment After?
80

Very refreshing new pop punk. Will have to keep it in the rotation for a bit to pick out faves, but this was very enjoyable. Hot Mulligan vibes while still having a very original sound.

sace6 - limerence

Decent EP, have to be in the right mood though. Excited for their album.
