Distorted Sound
Overall, this album is a masterclass in everything WAGE WAR. They have braved the classic comments that “they’ve changed”, when really they have had the courage to experiment and play around with their sound until they produce something that they themselves enjoy.

‘STIGMA’ is a blood pumping breakdown-laden album, with plenty of chugging choruses to chant along to. The hooks are meaty enough to sink your teeth into, but be careful because this album bites back.

Kerrang!
The result is an impressive piece of work – arguably Wage War’s strongest ever – and one which ensures the only stigma they’ll be labelled with is that of being one of the current metalcore scene’s best bands.

Wage War have more than proven themselves to be an up-and-comer in the heavy music world and a band to keep your ears on.

Pulling no punches over its 31 minutes –Wage War’s shortest album to date– Stigma is the sound of a band stepping out of their comfort zone, embracing change and, ultimately, succeeding in their intended evolution.

This new Wage War album… is NOT GOOD.

I mean… what do I even say about this album?

The band literally thought it was a good idea to title their album one letter away from the word "sigma" that is literally being memed and made fun of to death online this year. The album doesn’t even flow well as the songs don't even sound like they're on the same album. The record begins with “THE SHOW’S ABOUT TO START” which features this electronic ... read more

While I don't think that "STIGMA" is as horrible as others do, it shows the striking descent of mediocrity that Wage War has been spiraling into since 2019.

With every release since "Pressure", this band just seemed to get more and more generic and basic. Don't get me wrong, they were always a generic Metalcore band but their first two projects were solid. "Deadweight" in particular is a really Modern Metalcore album with some absolute bangers on there ... read more

Wage War releases some of the most radio shit of all time, I can find at most 1 moment in this album I enjoyed, That's how generic and boring it really is,

On the first track, they try this clubby banger beat and it reminds me of a poorly done Kim Dracula. All gimmicks, no fun. But even when they DON'T use gimmicks, this album is SOOOOO draining, I can't believe I'm even ... read more

I mean, overhated? Sue me, I don't care. 100% I agree that this is such a falloff from their previous record, and a couple of their others. I will say, it's different and I respect the leap of faith they had to try something new. And even if it didn't pay off with a lot of fans, I respect it and enjoy some of the songs here. The overwhelming amount of rave sounds that's pumped into the blood of this record is sometimes egregious, but on songs like #1 and #9, it works well. ... read more
