twigs' debut album is nothing short of weird, euphoric, and futuristic. lp1, as i see and hear it, is a record about the lows of a relationship and also about her expressive sexuality. what i love about twigs is no matter how grime/alien-like she and her sound is, she still performs them with such raw emotion and her human vulnerability is soo visible in her lyrics. this album felt less like her introducing herself to us but moreso our introduction to her, us entering her warped world. ... read more
this album is refreshing to hear from him and from mainstream pop. aside from the great singles you can really see him putting himself out there as a popstar while simultaneously becoming the fully fleshed gay icon that was always in him. maybe it's cuz i'm gay but every song was vulnerably heart felt
reaaaalllllyy good alt r&b album. might i say the best? it's just so balanced, and every song's melody was catchy (which is kinda hard for a 2020s r&b album)
this had the shortest tracklist out of all of their albums but it allowed for an album with all good songs
