“can I dream for a few months more?”
for such a forgotten part of mitski’s discography, this album sure is a lovely listen. even though it was released just a year after her first project, BDCMMD feels like such a different genre of melancholy from Lush. more mature and reserved i’d say, compared to Lush’s raw and (occasionally) brash sound. it almost sounds like the background music of a victorian period piece; in the best way possible, of course, this album is ... read more

“my blood is red and unafraid of living”
absolutely fucking wild that this was a high school project, what an incredible album. each of these songs have composed the soundtrack of my entire adolescence and even after five years i’m still in love with every single one of them.
eric has been stuck on loop in my playlists as of late. the belt clinking sounds in the background are my favorite little instrumental bit, though it’s hard to pick a favorite “bit” ... read more
“that’s hot”
i really wanted to like this one but it just kinda felt like bland, generic electropop to me. there were a few good tracks that fucked pretty hard but other than that this listen just kinda felt like a drag, even though it was only 20 minutes long.
favorite tracks: BITCH, RUNAWAY
least favorite track: WHORE IDOL
“every time i think about love, i think about me thinking about you”
this is my favorite car seat headrest album for a reason, it’s such a wonderful experience through and through (although the first half does hit a bit harder than the second in my opinion).
the shitty sound quality seems to have snuck in from mtm, which isn’t a bad thing. it definitely fits the vibe a lot better in this case, whereas the distortion and fuzziness felt a little too intense at some ... read more
“i fell in love with my fate as it crushed me to death”
there’s really nothing i can say about this album that would give it the proper praise it deserves but whatever, it’s such a teen angst masterpiece that i’ll never shut up about. nervous young inhumans alone deserves at least ten paragraphs of dissection and gushing but i won’t even get into that, shoutout to you galvanistic young inhumans though.
the crunchy sound quality can be a little difficult to ... read more
