The Boys of Dungeon Lane is actually a pretty good album for an 83 year old, but considering it’s Paul McCartney, is it really a surprise? Paul’s newest release brings both catchy pop rock songs and soft meaningful tracks that really show that despite being 83, he can still make great music. I can’t put my finger on exactly what I find so nice about this album, but what I can say is that it’s just so pleasant to listen to, there are some really beautiful tunes that just ... read more
Please Please Me marks the beginning of one of the most significant bands in history. They once started as The Quarrymen, a skiffle group formed by John Lennon in 1956 with a few of his highschool friends. A year later in 1957, John met Paul McCartney, Paul later went on to become a member of the band with John. Paul then introduced George Harrison to the band in 1958. At the beginning of the 60s, they went through several name changes, but eventually landed on The Beatles. In that same year, ... read more
Habibti— while seen as the weakest of the 3 latest albums by most of the fan base, I think it’s actually okay. Of course it is pretty boring and monotonous, like seriously I could unironically fall asleep to this. But one thing going for it is that Drake isn’t completely obnoxious on this album. He isn’t faking some Jamaican accent or trying to act like someone he’s not. It’s just a chill R&B album, even if it’s pretty underwhelming.

Maid Of Honour is definitely more interesting compared to Iceman, but does that mean it’s better?
No. It’s not better, it’s actually just as bad. Even though it wasn’t a chore to listen to like Iceman, it showed that Drake not only is insecure and unable to take accountability, but he also has a great talent in making shitty club music.
First off, the lyricism is so shallow it’s terrible. On Which One, he says that people don’t make music for women anymore, ... read more
ICEMAN was supposed to be a comeback for Drake after 2024, which was a rough year for him when he was accused of being a pedophile, many rappers turned against him, and he lost a rap beef against Kendrick Lamar. Unfortunately, it only seemed to bury him deeper.
Drake shows on the album that he cannot take accountability to save his life and that he can’t let things go. He brings up the Kendrick beef several times throughout the album, despite it being 2 years ago now. On What Did I ... read more
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s 12 year old daughter dropped an EP, and it’s actually not bad.
N0rth4evr is her entrance into the rage scene. North inherits Kanye’s talent of producing as she samples really recognizable and iconic emo, electronic, and vocaloid songs and turns them into loud hardstyle beats. But while the production is good, it’s clear she follows a formula for each song, as it usually starts with an acapella of a sampled track, then the beat switches to ... read more
808s & Heartbreak is a big change from Kanye’s College Trilogy. It features a whole new pop sound using- shockingly, 808s and heavy autotune previously used by rapper T-Pain. It also has a much sadder and colder vibe compared to his previous albums. On 808s & Heartbreak, Kanye sings about the grief he has felt in the past year, whether it’s a break-up with his fiancée, the death of his mother, or his struggles with the famous life.

Abbey Road is said to be one of the best albums of all time. So I decided to give it a listen. My rating of Magical Mystery Tour wasn’t very high, I only gave it an 80, and I felt it was somewhat overrated. So I had my doubts of whether or not I’d enjoy it as much as most do. But I was wrong, this album is a masterpiece. There are very few bad things I can say about it. It’s such an amazing experience that is incomparable to any other album I’ve heard. The impact this ... read more
On Indicud, Cudi takes a step away from the traditional pop rap style and experiments with production on his own. Indicud has a much heavier and aggressive yet minimalist sound compared to his previous albums. Cudi also takes an experimental approach, using sounds and techniques not commonly used in traditional hip hop. An example of this is in “Unfuckwittable”, which purposely uses off-key notes to create a chaotic and wonky atmosphere.
Just What I Am and Immortal are the standout ... read more
WZRD is Kid Cudi’s first step into alt rock, and it’s pretty solid. Instead of making another pop rap album, Cudi branches out into a whole new genre. Songs like Teleport 2 Me, Jamie and The Dream Time Machine stand out with their psychedelic soundscape, while High Off Life and Love Hard are full of energy and show that Cudi is more than just a rapper. Unfortunately the album also suffers from some flaws. The lyricism of the majority of the album is pretty mild and lacks ... read more
Graduation is one of the most iconic albums of its time, and it’s for good reason. It is one of the most fun and energetic albums in all of hip hop, with its synths and maximalist beats. The album has plenty of hits like Stronger, Can’t Tell Me Nothing, Good Morning, I Wonder, Good Life, and Flashing Lights. It’s an extremely positive album that encapsulates your most fun moments in life. It’s clear why many people love this album, to put it simply, it’s fun.

Man On The Moon tells the story of a man who fought through adversity and grief, and eventually made his dreams come true. The first track “In My Dreams” sets the scene for the rest of the album, being his dreams. Throughout the album, Kid Cudi has “nightmares”, showing the listener the dark parts of his mind.
A big theme of the album is also drug use, Kid Cudi uses drugs to escape from his reality, entering his “dreams”. It’s the only way for him to ... read more
A great blend of hip hop, rock, and electronic sound. This album feels like a complete opposite of the original in terms of emotion and tone, while the first is positive and energetic, this one feels depressive and it explores the reality of Kid Cudi’s life. The sequel is also more focused on rapping than melodies. Also the production is amazing, people like Emile, Plain Pat, and Dot Da Genius really help in building an atmosphere that cannot be replicated. This album feels eerie, ... read more
I am a hip-hop fan, and I generally listen to newer music, so of course I’m not going to like it as much as a Beatles fan. I can see why it’s well liked, it has some fun songs, it’s very catchy, and it’s messy in a great way. It’s just not my style.
My favourites are Strawberry Fields Forever and Blue Jay Way. They have a certain feeling of discomfort that I really enjoy. I wish they did more with the Psychedelic theme, but the album is generally pretty wacky and ... read more
After over a year of waiting and delays, we’re finally given BULLY. This album has many great things to say about it, but many flaws too. I mean one of the most apparent flaws is the use of AI, while in some songs it’s hard to tell, PREACHER MAN and DAMN both use AI vocals, and to make matters worse. PREACHER MAN has both AI and very bland and sloppy real vocals by him, making what could be a good song, very messy and hard to listen to. CIRCLES also had a lot of potential, but ... read more
A solid EP from Cudi, I like the return to the more psychedelic production style, it reminds me of Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’. The songs are also very catchy, my favourite song is DROWN, the acoustics and the deep sounding voice is very satisfying. The lyrics don’t hit very deep and are a bit bland though. Also RIDE RIDE is a bit boring and the chorus is very repetitive. Overall not bad, but not a mind blowing project for Cudi.
An amazing debut for Kanye West. Kanye West started off as just a young producer in Chicago who wanted to not only be a producer, but a rapper too. His underdog story against people doubting him and a near-fatal car accident only adds to this phenomenal album. Kanye raps about things that weren’t super mainstream in hip hop like societal issues, religion, and the education system. Culture is also a big part of this album, he raps about aspects of Chicago and the adversity he faced. This ... read more
Despite its short track list, KIDS SEE GHOSTS makes up for it with psychedelic and spiritual songs made to perfection. The two artists express their spiritual journey and struggles with drug abuse and mental health. This duo has phenomenal chemistry and this album makes it very clear.
Kanye’s peak for sure, the sampling of classic soulful music shows his incredible talent, and it has a song for every setting. This album truly cannot be replicated. I would do anything to listen to Late Registration for the first time again.
