An excepectional gem of the spanish synth-pop. Youthfull, simple and yet it achieves to be propositive in it's sound to become an icon in pop culture, not bad at all for a debut album. The feminine voice of Ana Torroja is unmistakable and the barroquesque production of the Cano brothers matches it incredibily.
My personal favorites are Perdido en mi habitación, Me colé en una fiesta, Hoy no me puedo levantar & Maquillaje.
An extrangely delicate piece of house and funk. The use of jazzy loops and instrumentation is delicious. By moments it's enigmatic, mysterious, disperse, puzzling but cleverly thinked. I really like the use of voice in this album, not only the vocals, which are great, but its sampling and manipulation.
My favorites: No (what a seductive voice and bass), Lyk U Use 2 (makes me sigh), ULookLykIceCreamInTheSummertime (the second part is outstanding) & sloppy cosmic.
Big modern classic, no doubts. That's how a cold city sounds by night. Drops and steps echoing, voices from far and memories in the background. This album can resonate with you only by its handcrafted loops and sounds. It's a whole solitude experience, it touched me in several night walks in Mexico City.
