McKinley DOES NOT MISS MAN
Amazing song by McKinley Dixon that summarizes everything good about his music, the jazzy production was one upped from his prior album into such an ornate yet simple sound, buttery smooth rapping through and through and amazing backing vocals. The lyricism is also insanely good, and the chorus is just as exciting as the last songs if not more.
Genuinely so exited for this album, might be my aoty since Swans’ birthing wasn’t thatttt good.
A euphoric burst of happiness that was combed and shaved down to near perfection by some of the best musicians ever. Not one second is wasted on this record, the clever and interesting lyrics coupled with the ornate instrumentation make this album a staple of music in general. This record is practically flawless, and is a seminal release for everything that is to come after it.
Depressed and generally mellow cover of Call Me Maybe By Carly Ray Jepsen, I really like how little of the song he changed yet he still completely changed the vibe, quite an impressive feat for sure.
Really good album by a consistently amazing band.
I don't love this album as much as others do, but I can appreciate the fact that this album truly is one of the best of it's time, with it's high points being really well executed, and the internal meaning of some of these songs being jaw-droppingly beautiful. You can clearly notice that each member of this band gave it their all to make one of the best albums of our current time, with each and every one performing every single ... read more
Absolutely great showcase of By Storms sheer talent. Its distinctive production, combined with the great rapping performance really elevates this song to the next level.
I kind of forgot that Ween existed, should've made this review a longggg time ago.
Short review because I'm lazy as fuck: I really like the album, I really like the vibe that most songs give off and generally enjoyed most tracks. This album does have some low points though (mostly during Happy Colored Marbles), which slightly ruins the progression in my opinion, luckily they save that by having some really good songs in between some of the okay-ish songs. I genuinely love some of the ... read more
Holy shit this is about to be aoty if all of the songs are of this quality. Insanely good single, REALLYYYYY enjoyable and replayable even with the 6 minute runtime, one of my favorite songs from this band.
Edit: they were not :(
Thank you mr Granolant for the amazing recommendation!
I don't really have much to say, it's a pretty nice and short ep with some very pleasing vocals and instrumentals. The transition between the first and second track kind of threw me off, as I thought the second track was gonna be as mellow as the first one.
Nonetheless, This ep is pretty nice, probably gonna hear it again because of how short it is.
I thought it was gonna be better by the cover tbh, but it's really just some okay poetry being said in a monotone voice with scary background sounds. I did really like whatever those sounds between each stanza were, but overall kind of just a waste of time.
This song unironically gets me pissed off, I want to kms every single time I hear this, whether it be on the radio, Tiktok, Youtube, or ANY platform.
Nick Drake is amazing, he makes good music, is basically a poet, and is great with the acoustic guitar and other instruments, what else can you ask for???
A great send off album from one of the most quintessential jazz rap groups ever formed. This album manages to capture what really made them unique during their three album run in the 1990’s and rekindles that energy while counteracting many of the prior flaws they had, leaving us with an extremely groovy and energetic soundscape full of replay value and deep lyrical content. This album as a whole is extremely consistent, containing a total of 16 tracks and heaps of features to compliment ... read more
I feel like this song is weaker than their prior single, but still a very nice song overall, its still missing that raw emotion that got me into BCNR, still pretty good but not as good as Besties imo.
Besties is a pretty good song, very fun and all but feels like it’s missing that thing that made BCNR so special. Nonetheless still a good song, enjoyable and definitely got me hyped for the album
Holy shit I LOVE you Stevie Wonder
This album is pure bliss, there are absolutely NO flaws to be seen here, it's all just perfect from start to finish (no wonder though, since Stevie is single-handedly one of the best musicians of all time).
