Laufey - Bewitched
80

Bewitched carries the listener through a modern fairy tale, where heartbreak and love form a perfect, symphonic oxymoron. Laufey’s out-of-time traditional pop is incredibly addictive.

Taylor Swift - reputation
75

"Please don't ever become a stranger / Whose laugh i could recognize anywhere" - New Year's Day

reputation is Taylor Swift’s brave attempt to dive into electronic music after her risky, but ultimately successful, pop shift with 1989. Despite some missteps, Max Martin and Jack Antonoff’s production carries most of the project, revealing a more fragile and intimate version of the pop star beneath the villain mask she chose to embrace.

FKA twigs - EUSEXUA
88

“Sometimes I feel like I'm not even trying / That's when my feet start dancing away” — Keep It, Hold It

EUSEXUA is a psychedelic, mystical experience. FKA twigs’ juxtaposition of layered vocals and distorted sounds becomes increasingly convincing the deeper you dive into the record.

Taylor Swift - evermore
100

"Now you hang from my lips / Like the Gardens of Babylon" - cowboy like me

I might be a little biased here, but evermore is Taylor Swift’s best work.

I once read a theory suggesting that the entire album is an exploration of pain and sorrow that ultimately culminates and resolves in the deluxe tracks, right where you left me and it’s time to go. In that sense, you are faced with a choice: either hold onto the pain, or finally let it go.

I could talk about this record ... read more

Jeff Buckley - Grace
85

Grace by Jeff Buckley is an incredibly well-rounded record. Every track is a majestic blend of Jeff’s ethereal voice and some of the finest instrumentals I’ve ever heard. I didn't like a few lyrical choices here and there, but that becomes almost irrelevant when he sings them LIKE THAT.

Lorde - Virgin
100

“I'm ready to feel like I don't have thе answers / There's pеace in the madness over our heads” — Hammer

Lorde’s way of describing self-growth and acceptance cuts right to the bone on Virgin. The songwriting depicts a "man"/woman who has finally arrived where she wanted to be, both artistically and personally, with their past selves lingering as ghosts they're finally learning to face. It’s messy and raw, yet deeply reassuring, ... read more

Sabrina Carpenter - Man's Best Friend
83

“Bye it’s me / Howsmmmm call / Do you me still love?” - Go Go Juice

Sabrina’s newest project feels like a straightforward evolution of Short n’ Sweet, pushing her provocative and hilarious narrative toward a more mature sound while never losing her spark. When it first came out, I wasn’t entirely sold on the project, but the more I listened to it, the more it got stuck in my head.

twenty one pilots - Breach
90

“You tore me up more than you know” - Cottonwood

One of the best surprises of 2025, Breach never lets the listener catch their breath. The songs are constantly evolving, adding depth to its marvelous alt-rock sound, carried by Joseph’s beautiful vocals.

Taylor Swift - THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY
80

“I changed into goddesses, villains and fools” - Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus

THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT is a beautifully disastrous tornado. With THE ANTHOLOGY tracks, Taylor Swift once again proves how meticulous and sharp her pen can be, delivering songs such as How Did It End? and The Prophecy, which lean toward a more acoustic sound compared to the first half of the album, largely driven by synths that drag the listener into the “asylum.”

It is a deep ... read more

Taylor Swift - The Life of a Showgirl

I gave myself some time to process this HUGE shift.

Where is Taylor Swift?
I’ve listened to this project a lot, since I’m a big fan of Taylor’s music, but I feel like she didn’t put the same HEART into this record as she did with her previous ones. And that’s a big deal, considering that the core strength of her music has always been her pen and her ability to portray emotions.

While the album is sonically catchy and definitely enjoyable, that’s not what I ... read more

Taylor Swift - Red (Taylor's Version)
100

Red (Taylor’s Version) was the album that made me fall in love with Taylor Swift’s music. I love her songwriting on this project, and you can clearly see how she wanted to improve an already great record that marked her steady shift toward a more “pop-ish” sound. I really hope she returns to this genre in the future, as it’s where she truly shines: something her more recent works, folklore and evermore already proved.

ROSALÍA - LUX
75

The first and only listen I gave to this album left me unbelievably disappointed. The orchestral production is majestic and very well developed, but I couldn’t fully appreciate the project as a whole. I found it hard to digest and very much not my cup of tea in terms of songwriting. As an Italian L1 speaker, I couldn’t help but giggle while listening to Mio Cristo Piange Diamanti, as the solemn lyrics are pronounced in a rather odd way. I think it is a very ambitious album, but ... read more

Laufey - A Matter of Time
86

“Your smile still kills the same” – Too Little, Too Late

I went back to my previous review after listening to Bewitched, experiencing A Matter of Time with more knowledge and a renewed appreciation for Laufey’s music. With her third album, she ties jazzy sounds together with braver arrangements and melodies, serving once again a beautifully refined record.

On yourlocalgdw's review of Taylor Swift - The Life of a Showgirl
""That's frankly who Taylor Swift is" yeah right- TLoaS definitely isn't something i'd show someone to showcase Taylor Swift's incredible songwriting, coming from a huge fan of hers. You should probably check her "pandemic" albums like evermore and folklore to truly understand that this whole project falls behind the beautiful music she's been able to produce, and personally, it doesn't quite find its place in her latest discography."

On Charlie!!!'s review of Melanie Martinez - Cry Baby
"Hi! I was wondering: is this review about the project itself or more of a critique of Melanie as a person? Personally, I think art should be separated from the artist, even if you choose to believe those strange rumors that that girl brings up every time Melanie gets attention. I say this because on one hand, you're showing appreciation for the artist and her music, but on the other, you’re criticizing her based on speculations and theories surrounding her aesthetic. Her language may seem oversimplified, but that’s part of the character: she’s built to speak on those topics. I honestly don't understand why the music industry turned its back on her since she’s been one of the first artists to address issues of violence and abuse."
