While the band has retained their unreproducible signature, much of this release is missing the intensity and spunk that made their earlier work and preceding single, “This Is Real,” hit so hard.
This comeback solidifies the boy band’s presence as one of the most unique and exciting young voices in the Kpop scene today. As the cream of the crop gains more momentum, it’s unsurprising to see that coloring outside the lines offends many listeners, but this new batch of catchy trap tunes has colored this one quite impressed.
Swervedriver may appear old fashioned upon first listen, but deeper listening reveals their expertise in a beautiful marriage of shoegaze and rock n’ roll.
For a lack of better terms, this is their gentlest yet most dangerous sounding work. The band ruthlessly overwhelms the senses with roaring guitars and frantic drum beats anxiously marching onwards to obliteration.
