This is like the worst fucjing thing i’ve ever heard, poppy.
Overlistened to this album quite a bit, but it still packs a punch. Lot of the songs would prolly be rated higher if I had just discovered this record. I’m lucky to have seen many of these songs live like twice.
> Favorite Tracks: BLOODMONEY; Anything Like Me; Bite Your Teeth
> Random Lyrics: Nothing I Need
“Always gotta climb the ladder, someone else will always do it, they'll do it better. Here's your prize for competition, they would die for your position.”
Voicemail gives me very visual imagery of what would then become the music video for V.A.N, that’s funny to me. Meat was the first ever Poppy song I liked.
Favorite Tracks: Scary Mask (ft. FEVER 333); Meat
Random Lyrics: Voicemail
“Do I make you angry? Should I leave you alone? You keep running from me, that’s all that you know.”
This is what metal Poppy could’ve been If she hadn’t been lobotomized by Jordan Fish, literally this is Negative Spaces if it were 60% more swaggy and full of personality. Some people don’t like the bitcrusher but I think it gives it more personality. It’s really hard to track rate this EP because I really love most of it.
> Favorite Tracks: EAT; Say Cheese; Breeders.
> Random Lyrics: Breeders
“God made you in his image, consumption and desire.”
This is all very catchy.
Favorite Tracks:
- Altar
- Money
"I think my father may be gay but I don't know..."
> American Kids
A more interesting version of her first album, also a great transition between her first album and her third album. Too bad her and Grimes beat each other up and ate each other´s livers in the studio.
Favorite Tracks:
- Am I A Girl?
- The Rapture Ball
- X
"Sometimes I have these thoughts, they leave me all confused... It gets so hard for me, or is it hard for you?"
> Am I A Girl?
This is not good for sleep as some tracks are spooky, alas, the spooky tracks are the less boring ones.
I get it’s supposed to be like this depressed middle aged vibe but I don’t see myself listening to this again. It has a few good songs here and there but nothing too crazy, in my view.
Favorite Tracks:
- Charlie’s Inferno
- Party’s Dead
“You can run from your demons until you are exhausted, one day you will have to stop and find out what they wanted.”
- Charlie’s Inferno
Freaky Fuentes always singing about driving recklessly.
Favorite Tracks:
- Resilience
- Emergency Contact
- The Jaws Of Life
"I´m better tonight, don´t waste that hand - Non-operational for anything else - you´re jealous of my resilience."
> Resilience
Misadventures was my first Pierce The Veil album, so I hold it very dearly to my heart. Vic is a great lyricist, he really knows how to make visual scenes with words.
Favorite Songs:
- Song For Isabelle
- Bedless
- Gold Metal Ribbon
"Back in the days, when I was young - I´m not a kid anymore - but somedays I sit and wish I was a kid again."
> Song For Isabelle
Yeah sure, this is a fun album. Although I do prefer their other releases more. This is a safer album and it’s no wonder it’s so popular.
Favorite Tracks:
- I’m Low On Gas And You Need A Jacket
- Stained Glass Eyes And Colorful Tears
- Hold On Till May
“Fine, maybe I’ll pretend right now, but I swear to God, I’m gonna change the world.”
> Stained Glass Eyes And Colorful Tears.
Now brother bring that beat back!
I really like this album, it feels like a more polished version of A Flair For The Dramatic. Really fun to dance to when you’re drunk. I used to be addicted to Disasterology at like 16, it remains one of my favorites.
Favorite Tracks: (Most of them tbh)
- Disasterology,
- I Don’t Care If You’re Contagious
- Million Dollar Houses (The Painter)
“So melodramatic, but it turns me on. I close my eyes, it feels just like a movie.”

This album perfectly incapsulates the 2010-scene-emo-angsty-zombie-intense feeling of feeling feelings, in my view, a bit more accurately than the other Pierce The Veil albums.
I used to not like Vic’s whiny voice, now it haunts me while I try to sleep. The fuck is a “diamond gold ring”?
Favorite Tracks:
- Wonderless
- The Cheap Bouquet
- I´d Rather Die Than Be Famous

I think That Handsome Devil has fun and witty lyrics, making a few songs fun to listen to and sing along, but this album lacks moments of climax, it feels too dull, giving track fatigue too easily, a problem I see in most of their discography. I do think they’re good lyricists (lyricist?), but I can’t see myself listening to the other tracks that didn’t instantly click to me again. This album didn’t reach me.

- EVL PPL
- Shudup You’re ... read more
