I kept this band on my radar when I first discovered Corner of My Eye the beginning of 2023. The boys are so young yet they pull off the vintage style so well. I only consider myself a casual fan of The Beatles but I grew up listening to a radio station that played 60's - 90's pop/rock so there was some nostalgia there for me when I listened to this album. I was hyped for this album after falling in love with the singles especially The Summoning and Granite. Then I tried listening to their past catalogue and did not find anything I liked. It also didn't help how common it was for bands to release all the "good" tracks first and the rest of the album ends up being subpar so my expectations were subdued to say the least. One of my favourite Oli releases as it's very melody driven. It's also my 2nd vinyl purchase ever! I'm not the biggest fan of his old Soundcloud stuff so the departure of that style really favours me. I like the variety of samples and beats used. The filter he uses to lower his voice makes everything sound twice as good.
Golden Halo - 6.5 - doesn't have a strong lasting impression but still listen to it every time it comes up on the playlist

Memory Loss - 7.5 - cohesive fusion of rap and rock, like the bridge a lot, chorus is slightly underwhelming
Secrets - 7 - solid rock track with Linkin Park vibes, like the verses more than the chorus since it just got old for me quickly
Aneurysm - 7 - lots of nothing, nowhere. vibes especially the intro, slower track, beautifully sung but again the chorus got old quickly
I usually don't like ranking an album that just came out but I've listened to it more than 10 times so I don't think my opinion is rushed. On the first listen, nothing really stood out except for Holy Ghost Spirit, For The Jeers and One Man's Cringe. However, upon listening more critically, I am confident in saying this album is better than Artificial Selection (rated 61 by me for context) which came out in 2018. - Gravitate towards vocals I find emotive or unique along w/ instrumentals that have a strong sense of passion behind them
- Strong distaste for classic rock, grunge, industrial, industrial & experimental hip-hop music
- Will not rank anything here unless I feel I have at least a semi-good understanding of it
