Some of his best tracks to date are on here. I mostly enjoy the atmospheric electronic vibe (the sound of this project is probably the most consistent and focused) even if some ideas sadly don't evolve into anything noteworthy imo.
I feel like this Neo-Soul infused Indie Pop is very hard to pull off in the first place and easy life barely scratch the surface of everything they try on here.
Nothing to be irritated about when it's playing in the background but middle school level songwriting and average at best performances and arrangements make this a terribly bland listen if you actually pay attention.
A perfectly balanced Metalcore record.
The riffs hit hard and provide a good amount of onslaught while the melodic passages come off as genuine and don't disrupt the momentum of the tracks which is a problem I've had with other Metalcore albums.
The ambient tracks help create a moody, sad atmosphere and function really well as transitional pieces in my opinion.
I really enjoyed letting myself be swallowed up and tossed around by this.
A carefully produced, emotionally charged Singer-Songwriter record that showcases incredible perseverance following an incredibly challenging phase in Rose's life.
dude is such a refined artist he can basically do anything now and make it sound good.
Evil bladee goes pretty hard and while this is pretty different from his other recent stuff all the improvements hes made over the years when it comes to his aesthetic and style keep shining through. Fucking chaotic and wild but a shit ton of fun.
for some reason I thought of "Run For Your Life" by clipping when "they don't wanna see us win" came on... yeah, I'll see myself out
A very chaotic Avant/Progressive Metal experience. Rewarding for picking out this album completely randomly with no idea what I was getting into. The performances are killer and the songs are mostly entirely engaging.
I found some of the piano passages throughout this a bit annoying sadly and while the closing track has a lot of great moments I feel it has as many forgettable ones that feel like I've heard them earlier on the album.
100% a cool listen though!
Heavy Kevin Abstract/BH vibes and while it's nothing special it is pretty good vibe.
Roc's style and flow got kind of stale halfway through the project for me but it was still an enjoyably vicious bar fest. Also, sadly, apart from Larry June the features are pretty forgettable.
How is this so much worse than the first one???
The beats sound thin and forgettable and Future's performances are basically all misses for me, I just don't think he does good in this type of R&B lane. Plus, it's almost 90 minutes of this...
Even when it picks up pace a bit on the second disc, there is really nothing impressive or memorable about this at all.
Also, J Cole being on this is hilarious
i never know what to expect from these guys anymore, fucking love it
Amazing vocals and some glamorous bangers. Solid Pop record.
Might grow to be my next 100. Will have to see how it feels on future listens. For now, there's nothing really I didn't enjoy about this.
I've been meaning to listen to this album since I first heard the James Blake cover of "Case Of You". Both affectionate and mournful in its portrayal of love that feels potent and authentic even after all these years, every single song on here is memorable, engaging and Mitchell's voice and performances are truly one of a kind.
