Young Miko - att.
60

It's not bad but it's not that good either, it's just a lot of ok songs and to be honest it gets a little boring. Miko rarely gives anything to really hook you into a song. Her rapping is ok, she has a smooth voice but she just doesn't bring anything too much vocally. Cheers

Sleep Token - Even in Arcadia
70

First time listening to a Sleep Token album, gotta say I only searched up this band up cuz of the new school slipknot aesthetic, musically they are really their own thing, definitely not a typical sounding metal band, Vessel’s voice sometimes titters on being sort of cringey when they get deeper into the alt-pop sound in this album, which to be honest does not fit them too well, I think the albums best moments are the melodic metal portions. Which remind me heavily of Alcest, except ... read more

Clipse - Let God Sort Em Out
70

Keeping it 100 I wasn't a fan of Clipses earlier work and this album is no different, the production is good however, Pusha has always sort of relied on his beats to carry him. Which isn't necessarily a terrible thing, I was a really big fan of Pusha rapping over some odd ball beats in King Push and My Name is My Name. However on this album, aside from the beats the songs just lack substance. There's no good hooks and the beats although good just aren't captivating enough to ... read more

King Combs - NEVER STOP
70

This is really just a Kanye West beat mixtape with Combs as a mid feature, I didn't even know Diddy had a son or that he made music, I mean really, Kanye is the only thing that keeps this thing together lmao. Combs sounds super stiff and awkward when he raps the beats are the only thing that saves the songs. Overall not bad if you don't mind Combs and vibe more to the beats. Lonely Roads best song on EP. Cheers

Kanye West - BULLY V1
80

Swear Kanye the most bipolar dude ever lol, the fact he can create songs like BROTHERS and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, and then release songs like COUSINS is honestly baffling, Kanye is simultaneously the worse and best guy in the room. Even though he's gone off the deep end at his core Kanye is still a man who is capable of creating truly beautiful music.

Kanye West - DONDA 2 [Reissue]
75

Aside from the hugely bias hate, this album is aight, I never listened to Donda 2 when it came out on the stem player so a lot of the songs on here were new to me. A lot of the songs are ok, nothing too breathtaking or all that surprising, good songs to just vibe to. Academics is annoying as usual.

Playboi Carti - MUSIC
78

AAAHHHH!!!! JUMP OUT THE HOUSE JUMP OUT THE HOUSE, nah why the flying hell is this album 30 songs, feel like this album made all the mistakes WLR did but worse, bro could of just condensed it to 15 tracks and then release a deluxe version with the other 15 tracks which to be honest are mostly mid, I think Carti is best when he's being wild and in your face which you definitely get in this album, however there is so many tracks of Carti playing it so safe that any highs you get from the ... read more

BLK ODYSSY - 1-800 FANTASY
80

Some straight neo soul bangers on this, however it tends to get lost in some underwhelming ambience, specially towards the end of the album. Overall an absolute win for BLK ODYSSY.

Charli xcx - BRAT
85

Popular critics suffer from overhype/overhate syndrome I swear, look this a good pop album, but to be honest I just don't see it being a 90 or 100 score album like a lot of critics are suggesting. It's a very consistent album, which is pretty rare in pop now adays, a lot of recent pop albums will take you super high with a single but then crash you down hard with some pretty forgettable mediocre songs right after. Charli really flexes her ability to not run out of steam on this album. ... read more

¥$ - VULTURES 2
68

Weakest Kanye has been since Jesus is King, lotta these songs have a good idea at its core but drift off into some strange space and come through with a pretty mediocre execution. Except Field Trip that one is a banger, but songs like promotion, bomb, fried, river, don't really get where they were trying to go with those, bomb actually has an interesting beat but the lyrics and chorus are pretty cringey. You get hints of good production here and there but highly inconsistent throughout. ... read more

ScHoolboy Q - BLUE LIPS
75

I mean it's aight lol, I'm not gonna lie I tend to keep Q in my rotation of everyday music and I been listening to the man since habits and contradictions, even "CrasH" which a lot of people didn't find too pleasing, I quite enjoyed. So for me personally it was a question of how much am I going to like it compared to his other albums which I've tended to always enjoy. To be honest, I think this is probably Q's most jazzy sounding album. Its stepped away from Q's more grimey chilling ... read more

I really hope ppl stop listening to kanye so I can get tickets to the album tour for the low. The production is great as to be expected from Kanye, kanyes lyrics are kind of out of pocket and sort of ridiculous as they always been so there isn’t anything too out of the ordinary lyrically for kanye. He definitely throws salt on the wounds of the people who don’t like him which in turn has 1000% affected its critical reception. Moreover I feel kanye has given his fans want they want ... read more

Junior H - $AD BOYZ 4 LIFE II
90

To be honest this is probably the best corrido tumbado album in recent times. Junior H delivers heartbreak corrido banger after banger, with surprisingly crisp and beautifully arranged production. The 12 string guitars vibrant stringing is highlighted so violently in this album that when I listen to normal guitar music the guitar sounds so much more naked than the super harty sound of the 12 string demonstrated on this album. Junior H also seems much more in control of his artistry here, if ... read more

André 3000 - New Blue Sun
70

Nah nah nah Andre is legit playing on this, trying to pass himself off as some newborn explorer in the world on music, I know for a damn fact that 3k is better than this even if it's a totally different genre than hes used to. He knows exactly what sounds good and what doesn't so I don't really understand why he played it so safe and basic on this album. There's moments in the album that sound like they're leading into a seriously beautiful cacophony of sounds but for some reason he just never ... read more

Ameer Vann & Merlyn Wood - Slime In the Ice Machine
80

Whatever happened in Brockhampton died with Brockhampton, Ameer and Merlyn here to stay, back when the Saturation series came out I could tell Ameer was one of the central figures in the musical development, this album only solidifies that, ever since Brockhampton lost Ameer their music has only gotten worse meanwhile Ameer still dropping bangers. Bro SWISHER, OKAY, RIDE? stop playing. Look it's not that great but it's pretty solid, the album doesn't over welcome it's stay, it says what it ... read more

Travis Scott - UTOPIA
80

First thing first the production is great, it can be vividly heard on the first track HAEYNA, violent perhaps slightly oriental strings accompanied by thumping drums and 808s. Most of the record keeps the typical psychedelic and hard hitting trap flavor that Travis is so known for. Gotta say Travis took a big influence from experimental artists on this record, MODERN JAM sounded like something I would hear from a JPEGMAFIA record it was actually quite the surprise coming from Travis. The record ... read more

Ab-Soul - Herbert
78

Ya know I think this actually might be Ab-Soul's best work since control system, although the second half had some filler tracks the album is still solid and pretty damn good. It's just a little boring towards the end at times moreover these songs are some of soul's most melodic and high energy. Soul sounds as charismatic as he did in control system, if only he had kept it more consistant towards the end this album probably would of been one of the best hiphop albums in 2022, but came up a ... read more

SZA - SOS
75

Critics are really overrating SZA rn lmao, the score this album is getting from critics would give you the impression its better than ctrl. its not. I truly feel Ctrl. was a bit of a fluke for SZA and was strangely better than her other material, Z and S. I really like those albums don't get me wrong but they aren't anything steller, that's how I would describe SOS, good but nothing as steller as Ctrl. was. overall a solid release from SZA though, a little underwhelming at times with it's ... read more

Drake & 21 Savage - Her Loss
73

Its alright lol kinda your typicalish trap music specially with 21 on it. I wish drake would focus more on a pop rap style instead of a hard trap style I feel the former is actually when drake sounds the best, like on Honestly, Nevermind. Lots of people hated on that album but in my opinion drake sounded good on that album compared to lets say CLB. Here i feel drake tries to alternate between a more heart felt singy vibe to a hard trap style with 21. It’s alright but its kinda a weird ... read more

Jamie T - The Theory Of Whatever
100

No this is pretty good lol, I don't find it any less good than his other discography it is a bit more indie and pop punk like but still consistently melodic and groovy. It's not ike blow your socks off fantastic but solid. I would say it trades upbeatness for laidbackness but it's executed rather well. "Key Lamborginis" could of had a better hook in all honesty though, the well produced beat is the only thing that saves that song. Besides that it's more or less your typical Jamie T. ... read more
