Master Peace - How To Make A(nuva) Master Peace
89

Amazing E.P which compliments the album nicely.

I can admit for a while I wasn’t too fond of it, but it does really grow on you. HTMAMP provides just some amazing vibes and indie sing along songs with ‘Home’ and some more seriously worded songs in ‘Dancing With A(nuva) Man’.

It is a good length for a complimentary project and Peace is able to show off some his skills.

BEST: Dancing With A(nuva) Man
WORST: This Time

Drake - HABIBTI
75

This album was decent I don’t understand the hate.

It is a more slow R&B focused album and that is what Drake fits into in my opinion. Even the features worked better on this then the other two albums and was 100% more solid then the others.

Songs like WNBA and Slap The City stood out for me, as well as Gen 5.

There weren’t any songs I thought were offensive to my ears just very mediocre in places. This album obviously isn’t life changing whatsoever but I at least ... read more

Drake - MAID OF HONOUR

At least it’s better then Iceman.

Maid Of Honour isn’t anything special, but it’s a good album for background listening. Unlike Iceman there wasn’t really one track which stood out for me here, all the songs kind of merged together into one thing.

It could have certainly been worse and there is at least a couple songs I might revisit but nothing extraordinary on here.

However, Cheetah Print was an awful song, the beat, lyrics and even feature was all horrible. It is ... read more

Drake - ICEMAN

I wasn’t planning on listening to this today, I only listened out of pure boredom, which wasn’t cured by this ‘album’

Nearly every song follows the same flow and same beat, even the legally required 21 Savage feature didn’t help and infact was the worst part about the whole project.

Out of all 18 songs on here there is only one which holds any sort of replay value which is ‘2 Hard 4 The Radio’. Every other song is just okay and doesn’t really ... read more

Mudhoney - Superfuzz Bigmuff

I liked this a lot.

I would personally rate it higher if it was more ‘developed’ song-writing wise. But that aside this E.P shows some insane energy and overall feeling which is hard to come by.

Overall, very enjoyable.

Nirvana - MTV Unplugged in New York
100

I rarely give an album an 100 but this is it.

Composing of classic original songs as well as some beautiful covers. The production makes it sound so spacey and just like the band are performing to you. As well as that, they put on such an amazing performance it is impossible to recreate.

There will never be a better live album

Tory Lanez - LOL: SLUTTY BASS
NR

Mf you in your 30’s with a kid and you really making an album called slutty bass, i think the album is good but js for that

Young L & Lil B - S.S. Mixtape, Vol. 2
29

Biggest mixed bag ever.

This was such a weird experience because I really couldn’t tell if the next song would be amazing or fucking awful.
Songs like ‘Doubts’ show B’s storytelling ability which is shown a lot through his solo projects. And ‘Outer Space’ shows how they can have a clean flow over a smooth beat.

However, a lot of this lacked any replay value. The songs with random heavy autotune really threw me off and I did not like it one bit. And then on ... read more

Young L & Lil B - S.S. Mixtape Volume 1

Lil B’s first project, a collab with fellow pack member Young L.

This project shows the chemistry that these two have which would be further explored in later projects by ‘The Pack’.

The beats on here work well with their style of rapping, they’re nothing special in themselves but they still set up B and L to drop some ‘creative’ verses.

Of course their lyricism isn’t the most groundbreaking ever seen but they’re fun, simple verses which ... read more

N*E*R*D - Fly or Die

The album which fuelled my love for N*E*R*D.

The title track was the first N*E*R*D song a couple years ago when I got recommended their Live At T In The Park set from 2004 on Youtube.

This album still personally speaks to me as a teenager in songs such as ‘Fly Or Die’ and ‘Breakout’ bringing a certain feeling I don’t get from anywhere else. It feels like it is speaking to me.

As well as this, Pharrell also speaks on important topics such as warfare on the track ... read more

N*E*R*D - In Search of...

What an album.

Production from Pharrell and Chad gives it an amazing sound along with the instrumentation from Spymob. Also includes features from Pusha T, Malice and Kelis who are all very respected artists and have some rememberable parts on this album.

My favourite song from this album is ‘Bobby James’ and I could go on about that song for ages. It proves that they can make serious songs with deeper meanings along with the more playful less serious songs such as ... read more

Dizzee Rascal - The Fifth
32

Well call that a downfall and a half.

Dizzee on ‘Tounge N’ Cheek’ at least had personality, no matter what you thought about it you could at least admit it was funny. This isn’t. This is boring radio slop which has nothing to boast about. The first couple songs were good then it just got poppier and poppier, something you wouldn’t expect from grime rapper.

He could’ve have done so much better but the features didn’t even make sense with Dizzee. Of ... read more

Na-Kel Smith - NAK

I didn’t enjoy this at all.

After hearing his feature on DNA I was looking forward to see what he could bring in a full solo project, I was heavily mistaken.

His voice manages to change on every song but is still boring and annoying. I don’t hate mumble rap whatsoever but when it’s mixed so badly it sounds like you’re talking into a metal can then I do hate it.

Every beat sounds sluggish and un-imaginable so much so it seems like he made the whole project in one night ... read more

Dizzee Rascal - Tongue N' Cheek
100

Inject it into my veins.

Before an hour ago if you said I was rating this an 100 I would’ve called you mad.

Dizzee’s voice works really well with bright electronic instrumentation and his flow compliments them extremely well.

The only downside I have is that some of Dizzee’s lyricism can be a bit underwhelming.

But overall, amazing album with bright, electronic club sounds.

BEST: Chillin’ Wiv Da Man Dem
WORST: Money, Money

Lloyd Banks - The Hunger for More
93

The amount of catchy hooks on this project I cannot comprehend. Lloyd seems to have a way to bring a certain charm to each and every song that leaves it resonating in your head for hours after and that you recognise it as soon as you hear it.

Along with the star studded cast with: Eminem, 50 Cent, Tony Yayo, Young Buck, The Game and Snoop Dogg, Lloyd also proves he can storytell on songs such as ‘South Side Story’. As well as this he can also rap braggadocios on songs like ... read more

50 Cent - Get Rich or Die Tryin'
96

One of the best debuts ever?

This is packed with so many classics such as: In Da Club, Many Men Wish Death, P.I.M.P and 21 Questions. As well as this it includes features from: Eminem, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, Nate Dogg and Snoop Dogg. It carries a certain vibe which you won’t find anywhere else.

My only critique is that 50’s flow can feel a bit repetitive at times.

BEST: Wanksta
WORST: Blood Hound

Kanye West - BULLY
84

My goat man my goat.

Obviously needs some finishing touches but this is a really enjoyable project in my opinion. Going through all that and then still dropping some fire music. Good feature from Trav don’t know what happened to circles though. Again, overall really enjoyable.

UPDATE: After around a month of this releasing, there hasn’t been any songs I can say I’ve revisited. As a whole, the album is pretty good but for standalone replay value it lacks.

Ken Carson - A Great Chaos
87

‘A Great Chaos’ is one of the best projects in its respected genre. Ken flows well over the well crafted beats which creates a memorable listening experience. ‘Destroy Lonely’ also provides a handful of good features on this project as well. However, when listening to it as an album it feels like it can drag and sound similar throughout but it’s why the individual songs have great replay value.

Master Peace - Stupid Kids
95

Honestly such a great collection of songs right here with so many different influences and genres mixed together. Despite most of these songs being previously released as singles, they all seem to gel very well to create an exciting listening experience. MP has so much much more to come in the future as well.

BEST: STB
WORST: Stupid Kids (still amazing)

bad tuner - Lately In The Void
64

Not really my thing but it’s clear that the man has a lot of
musical talent and for that I heavily respect him. A couple songs on here do have a bit of replay value but a lot of them seem to not have any at all. ‘days gone’ is a personal favourite and is quite a vibe, however like I said his whole genre isn’t really for me so I can’t really fault him.

BEST: ‘days gone’
WORST: ‘let em rock’
