The Movember Collection is an achievement in music. It is a celebration of life, whilst also being a vehicle for a good cause.
Every year for four years, KOAN Sound, Culprate and Asa would go into the studio with another guest producer and create something magical. These tracks would release in November to coincide with Movember & Sons' yearly Movember fundraiser. By the third year, November was always a month I awaited with bated breath, hoping for a continuation of the series. Obviously ... read more
I've been following Sam for almost a decade at this point, starting with experiments using Game Boy's, going on to the infamous Furby Organ, the starting of his museum, the megadrone, god I could on. Although I've never given a fuck about Eurovision I'm so proud of him for getting this opportunity. He's an absolute entertainer, inventor and educator through and through. I remember seeing him perform in this tiny pub in Northampton to a couple dozen folks with his manic ... read more
I absolutely adore Save My Number and also really enjoy Peso. If it was just those two tracks here I'd probably put this at a 75+. But good lord how are you going to release an EP and have 3/5 of the tracks be dull interludes and skits that add nothing of substance to the project?
I feel like Lance Skiiiwalker's entire discography is just nothing but missed opportunity. Once in a blue moon he'll have a song that is absolutely wonderful, but you have to slog through so much trite ... read more
Happy Birthday, Skrillex!
I think this is a neat project. Love seeing him experimenting with new ideas here. I just don't think it hits the spot for me and probably won't be something I come back to. The title track does the sound and atmosphere the best in my opinion, with Someone Said being pretty neat as well. Yo Yan I think misses the mark, being too minimalistic to really capture the atmosphere I think he's trying to go for.
One of the greatest (and most underrated) Trance releases from the late 90's. The original mix absolutely sends me every time I hear it. Also featuring remixes from Moonman and Mistral on certain versions of the release (the digital has those plus the Big C's Remix) who are also staple late 90's Trance producers also, I have this in my required listening 90's Trance catalogue.
I've been a Daft Punk fan for my entire life almost. I've loved almost everything they've ever put out or been a part of.
Almost everything.
I have a very mixed relationship with Random Access Memories. It was an album I hated upon release and wrote off as "not real Daft Punk". When it came out I was so confused and frankly more than uninterested in the direction this album goes. I wanted another Homework, another Discovery. Back then, I was too dumb and naive to see ... read more
