I didn’t know how to rate this album when it first came out.
I am a massive fan of black midi and Geordie. The first few listens I wasn’t too into it. Objectively, YES. I understood how unbelievably tight the instrumentation was on every track. But I think the issue was that tightness contrasted with the unbelievably large tumor that is the story of this project.

I struggled to find album of the year 2024 during 2024. Here we are in 2025, Cameron Winter’s Heavy Metal hit me like a freight train. Over and over and over, I’ve never really been a physical media person. I have a record player, but rarely ever use it. This album was so good that I had to get the vinyl and CD for my car. Had this shit on repeat during the initial Splitgate hype. This obviously is the only thing memorable between those two. There are so many incredible bars throughout every track. And while I love Dave on this project, I have to give props to the features. Fredo, Meeks, and Ghetts on “In the Fire” makes this album incredible already.
