Definitely didn't love this as much as others did. Vocal performance often didn't work, and came off forced and performative. love "The Place Where He Inserted The Blade," otherwise... just good.
I have forgotten everything about this album since my listen last month which I think speaks to my enjoyment/interest in it
The ditziness in her voice rarely works for me, but the instrumentation is very smooth. Really liked One Wish and Love Me Not, otherwise eh
Sonically better than Blonde, but lyrically and cohesively weaker. In the end, I like them about the same for different reasons, which obviously means I think this album is incredible.
His best album. Thought EARFQUAKE was quite bad, but otherwise really liked it. ARE WE STILL FRIENDS? is especially explosive.
Jumps between unimaginably beautiful to jumbled mess. Usually unimaginably beautiful though
2nd favorite Kendrick album. Occasionally mediocre (Die Hard), but otherwise phenomenal. Definitely his most introspective album, and I really appreciate it for that.
My favorite of his production I've listened to... weird neoliberal cornball energy in writing. At least the beats are good!
Wasn't a huge fan of this album. Definitely good tracks, I really liked Just Like Honey, but the sound got repetitive and uninteresting by about the midway point.
I enjoy it! Certainly has its standouts (Golden Funky Groove, Ouais Ouais, Rat River, November), but is still overall very enjoyable.
I love it. It's poetry. It's romantic, it's heartbreaking, it's tear-jerking; the story on this album is melancholic and painfully real, documenting the wrench of breaking and growing up so damn well. Also, it sounds great! The skeletal production and incredible vocals work very well here.
