A fun album to backtrack to after hearing the excellent trio of albums proceeding this one and the departure of original vocalist Paul Di’Anno. After hearing both him and Bruce Dickinson headline this group, I’d say his departure was for the better. While this is far from a bad album or bad performance from Di’Anno, there definitely feels like there’s something missing without the dynamism of Dickinson, and there’s a lack of those soaring highs that show up on many ... read more
This was kind of an interesting one for me. I had exceedingly high hopes going into Powerslave. Can I say it didn’t quite meet those expectations, but it absolutely didn't come close to disappointing either? I feel that it had slightly lower peaks than the previous two albums in this trilogy (That title track, though. God. Damn.) while on the other hand it was also the most consistent of the three at the same time. Maybe the fact that Maiden was firing on all cylinders the whole ... read more
Definitely less consistent than their previous album, but has some very high peaks. Excluding “The Trooper”, I just really wasn’t enthralled with the middle of this album. A handful of just alright and one song I really just wasn’t a fan of. Other than that, another great record for Iron Maiden.
Favorite tracks: The Trooper, Revalations, To Tame A Land (Didn’t think it would make the top 3 but wow the guitar in the last third of this song absolutely rips, great ... read more
What can I say that hasn’t been said about this album lol. Yes, it’s awesome. Yes, Iron Maiden is one of the best bands of all time. Yes, you should listen to it.
Favorite tracks: Hallowed Be Thy Name, The Number of the Beast, 22 Acacia Avenue
Least favorite tracks: Gangland, Invaders
My favorite Slayer album. Yes it’s the least “Slayer-y” album of their earlier stuff, but I think saying that does it a disservice as to just how damn good it is. Slayer’s influences are glaringly obvious on this, Judas Priest especially, but Slayer manages to take what makes those bands great and turns it up to 11. Infinitely replayable and super badass record.
Favorite tracks: Metal Storm/Face the Slayer, Crionics, Die by the Sword

Billy Paul is so much more than just his big hit “Me and Mrs. Jones” ladies and gentlemen. While that song is the main highlight of this LP, it is far from the only gem to be found. This record is packed with gorgeous and funky tunes. A couple songs that’ll make you ascend and a couple that end up somewhat forgettable, with plenty of goodness in between.
Favorite tracks: Me and Mrs. Jones, It’s Too Late, Am I Black Enough for You?

Just immaculate. Comfortably in my top 3 albums of all time. Mid-2000s Kanye’s production and Common’s rapping (with some excellent Kanye features) merge with Madvillainy-esque perfection. Listen to this album.
Favorite tracks: Be (Beat makes me ascend even though I’ve heard it 100 times), They Say (Great Ye feature), Faithful
Worst tracks: N/A
Enjoyed it but didn’t love it. Highly respect this album for being so ahead of its time, but definitely gets nerfed by its somewhat ear bleeding production. The music itself is super up my alley but it’s very raw sounding. Not giving it too much slack though bc I’ve heard similar albums that came out years later and sounded similarly raw.
Favorite tracks: One Thousand Days of Sodom, Welcome to Hell, Poison.
Worst tracks: Red Light Fever (solid instrumental, cringeworthy ... read more
My favorite I’ve heard from Danny Brown so far. The first half of the album is excellent, and if that was the whole album this would probably be a 92 or so. However some of the tracks on the tail end of the album kinda start to melt together and not really stand out, and are honestly boring and surface level compared to the first half. Other than that amazing album, and Dope Song is one of my favorite songs I’ve heard in a while.
Undoubtedly my favorite Kendrick album/project. 0 skips, infectious production, and meaningful songs that still sound amazing and are infinitely replayable.
