Led Zeppelin - In Through the Out Door
78

Listened to this album a bit ago, really never saw what people generally “hated” about this album. I can see the differences between this and their prior albums, but I don’t see what makes this album’s softer sound a bad thing, as it still sounds really good in my opinion.

Best Song: All My Love
Worst Song: South Bound Saurez

Christopher Larkin - Hollow Knight (Original Soundtrack)
94

Hollow Knight is probably the best game I’ve ever played, not just because of the art, or the bosses, or the storyline, but also because of this amazing score by Christopher Larkin.

Earl Sweatshirt - Live Laugh Love
80

Absolutely generational four-song run at the end, besides those, the other songs off the album range from good to mid. Production is really good, as expected from an Earl album, as is the rapping, though I did expect earl to do something a little different on here. Overall, this album kinda just feels like a lesser version of SRS.

Best Song: exhaust
Worst Song: Live

Future - DS2
91

DS2 is considered by many Future’s magnum opus, along with one of the most iconic, and to some people one of the best trap albums ever. The album is really good, with only one miss (Groupies) and it really got better as it went on. Really good project, especially considering the disappointing and semi-disappointing projects I’ve heard form him before (MIXTAPE PLUTO & WE DON’T TRUST YOU).

Best Song: Blood On The Money
Worst Song: Groupies

Silk Sonic - An Evening With Silk Sonic
96

Bruno Mars’s Immaculate production combined with His & Anderson’s vocals make for a near-prefect project with no skips.

Best Songs: Leave The Door Open, Smokin Out The Window, & Blast Off
Worst Song: N/A

Benson Boone - American Heart
32

Benson has the vocals, the looks, and the charisma, you know what he doesn’t have, GOOD WRITING. That opinion might sound unoriginal, and yeah, it is, but it’s also correct, half of writing on here is just dude listing things, and fuck man, he couldn’t even write a good song about his MOM. The production on here is also extremely repetitive, every song’s synths sound the same. The only good song on here is I’m Here For Someone Else, and I really only like that one ... read more

monk on fire - the thorn in monte carlo
92

thanks to @ongp for the suggestion
And I also wanna say thank you to all of my 15 followers, I know it may not be the largest amount of followers, but I’m still grateful for everybody who followed me, onto the review.

If you’ve seen my review of their other album this year (a poem by Baraka Awolola) you’d know I think monk on fire is a great production duo, and while I don’t necessarily know his music as well, Quadroon is also a great rapper. Obviously combined this ... read more

KIDS SEE GHOSTS - KIDS SEE GHOSTS
83

YE REVIEWS, PT. 9

Accidentally made the JIK review before this, don’t know why I always forget about this album lol.
Anyways, KIDS SEE GHOSTS is the only album by the duo of the same name, which is made of up Kid Cudi & Kanye West.
The album to me is an expansion of the themes presented on “ye” except the music is better, and the themes are just better expressed overall. The album includes two of Kanye’s better verses oat, in 4th Dimension & Cudi Montage, along ... read more

Kanye West - JESUS IS KING
48

YOU’RE MY CHICK-FIL-A❗️❗️
(YE REVIEWS, PT. 10)

JESUS IS KING is Ye’s horrible attempt at a gospel album, the album not only does horrible musically, but lyrically it’s extremely fucking corny. There are only like 2 good songs on here, and really only “God Is” counts because Use This Gospel is absolutely carried by its features. Besides this, every other songs on here ranges from incredibly corny, but bearable musically, to incredibly corny AND horrible ... read more

NxWorries - WHY LAWD?
91

“WHY LAWD?” Is NxWorries second project, and while I have yet to listen to their first project, I’ll probably do it soon. The songs have extremely good production on them, which, combined with great preformances from Anderson. Paak, makes for an overall amazing project. Though I do think that the album could’ve been better if it didn’t have some of the unnecessary features, not necessarily that all the features are bad, as people like Earl & Rae Khalil put on ... read more

Kanye West - ye

ye REVIEWS, PT. 8

Originally, I rated this a 68, but after listening to it like two more times, I don’t really see why I did.
Sure it does have songs that I hate, I cannot listen to ITAKY just because of the annoying ass into, All Mine has some terrible ass bars, but besides those two and the mid-ass song that is Wouldn’t Leave, it’s not half as bad as I had made it out to be. Yikes & No Mistakes both have their fair share of good lines from Kanye, then obviously ... read more

YE REVIEWS, PT. 7

The Life Of Pablo is the final Ye project that I rated a 90 or over, the album itself is really good, but it also begins to show cracks in Kanye’s greatness as an artists, especially in songs like Freestyle 4. Besides this and SST, the album is really good, it has two of Kanye’s best songs ever in No More Parties In LA, and Saint Pablo, which he thankfully added to the album last minute. Overall, the album has like 2 misses, and besides those, the album is really ... read more

The Alchemist - The Genuine Articulate
74

The album isn’t half-bad, but I see why The Alchemist is a producer first, and doesn’t usually rap. On one hand, he does, on songs like Ferraris In The Rain and Seasons Change, gets really good bars in. On the other, on songs like Something Light, his rapping is really bad. Besides this, the album is (obviously) well-produced, and all the features are great, ranging from a legend like Havoc, to frequent collaborators like Action Bronson & Larry June.

Best Songs: Ferraris In ... read more

The Weeknd - Dawn FM
89

Pretty similar to, and a little bit worse than his previous album, After Hours, the first part of the weeknds 3 album trilogy of 2020 - 2025. The album is very good, but does lack a little in the things that I thought made after hours so great, like the production and lack of features, which did lack a little in this project. Overall, the project is basically after hours with a slightly different subject and a bit worse.

Best Song: Sacrifice
Worst Song: I Heard You’re Married

J Dilla - The Shining
97

While it doesn’t compare at all to Dilla’s best album ever, Donuts, it still is an amazing project with almost every song on here being absolutely amazing. The rappers that came onto the project were also all amazing, with people like Black Thought, Common, and Madlib featuring on this project.

Best Songs: E=mc2, Love, & Won’t Do
Worst Song: Geek Down

JID - God Does Like Ugly
87

Album was mostly good, though there were two duds. Despite the fact that this is his weakest album since The Never Story, it’s not bad at all, but it’s definitely comparable to TFS.

Best Songs: YouUgly, Glory, & For Keeps
Worst Songs: What We On & And We Vibing (Interlude)

Jaylib - Champion Sound
85

EDIT - just realized my rating boosted the avg by 1 point lol

Definitely expected more from a collab from two of the greatest producers of all time. Not that it’s bad at all, but I do feel like it would’ve been better if Dilla & Madlib rapped less, mainly just because neither or them are the highest quality rappers, and put more features on here, or if it was just a beat tape with no rapping. But overall it was a good album, just a little bit disappointing in the grand scheme ... read more

Future - WE DON'T TRUST YOU
75

For the album that really kicked off the beef, it’s not very special, obviously a good portion of disses directed at drake, and the iconic “Fuck The Big Three” line, but besides that, it provides nothing that special in therms of music and lyrics. Pretty basic Metro production and some equally basic rapping from Future, the features were definitely highlights, with pretty much every feature hitting on this album.

Kanye West - Yeezus
93

YE REVIEWS, PT. 6

Following up Ye’s most overrated, we get to his most underrated, Yeezus. I’ve listened to this album a total of 11 times, and it never stopped being purely amazing. It is definitely Ye’s most experimental album yet, the songs sound really futuristic and “glitchy” at times, especially in songs like On Sight. It also includes a top 5 (Bound 2) and two top 20 (New Slaves & On Sight) Kanye songs.

Best Songs: Bound 2, On Sight, & New ... read more

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
88

YE REVIEWS, PT. 5

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is an album that came after Ye’s infamous incident at the VMA awards, and also his most overrated album in my opinion. The album isn’t bad, but despite the fact that he assembled an amazing amount of features for this album (including Rick Ross, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Pusha T, & RZA), I didn’t think many of them we’re all that good, also some of the songs off this album heavily drag, like Runaway & Blame Game, it ... read more
