J. Cole - The Off-Season
86

Just like his other project that I reviewed (4YEO), The Off-Season is underrated. While it does dip in quality sometimes, and is far from Cole’s best, the album is still overall a good album.

Just retire already 😭

This album was just horrible, and the worst part was that I was excited to listen to it. The tracks were ok until after Banned From NO, then it was pretty much all just bad bad and worse. Had a few moments of clarity, and got good at the last track, but that’s it. I regret listening to this.

Best: Welcome To Tha Carter
Worst: Island Holiday, If I Played Guitar, & Peanut 2 N Elephant

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter IV
81

A little more ‘meh’ than, and pretty similar to Tha Carter III, which this one tried to replicate in some ways. The highlights were less high, and the lows were less low. Still a great album though.

Best: 6 Foot 7 Foot
Worst: How To Love

Queen - The Miracle
84

Definitely not their best material, but extremely overhated for what the album has to deliver, especially with very high peaks, and few lows.
Best: Breakthru & Was It All Worth It
Worst: My Baby Does Me

Jamal J. - Babilu

An extremely good album from an underrated rapper. I love the flows that Jamal J does on this album, along with the beats. Though it is a bit repetitive, and has a few bad/mid tracks but overall, this album is good, and very underrated.

Best Track: Demigod (9.6/10)
Worst Track: Jalloh’s Proverb (6.0/10)

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter III

Definitely a comeback.

Much less repetitive, more interesting, and overall better than its predecessor. Sadly though, the album did fall off during the second half, and certain tracks were definitely bloated, but it is still much better than Tha Carter II.
Best Track: A Milli
Worst Track: La La

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter II

EDIT: after listening to this again, I’ve realized I was wrong, it was still a somewhat boring listen, but it was not as repetitive as I remembered, also, multiple songs definitely grew on me

This is my “I did not care for the godfather”

Honestly, the music is not that bad, but it feels very repetitive, same flows, same beats, same sounding features. To be honest this does not make me excited to review his other albums, especially with this one being so highly rated and ... read more
