This album does the impossible and merges multiple universes. It combines different… I guess you could say schools of thought when it comes to approaching composition. Alright…
This album doesn’t expand enough on the broad horizons it teases at, and that is it’s fatal flaw. With every track, you have some interesting ideas that just… it’s like the foundation is there but the plans are too simple, and the band doesn’t do what they could’ve done. Interesting but not enough of a soundscape or any other compositional elements to enjoy.
What’s there to say that hasn’t been said already? I showed this album to my parents and they fell in love with it. The soaring guitars, sometimes bowed with screwdrivers, the drums ranging from crashes of metal to marching band percussion, and the masterful dynamic storytelling. There’s so many aspects to point to. I don’t even wanna talk anymore, I wanna listen to this shit now. The length is worth it, I swear.
