Thanks to my unique POV as this album was truly speaking to me when I was 16 with songs like "Look Up Kid", I feel like she wrote and performed this the version of herself when she was growing up. Thus, I do understand the intent behind it, but some of these songs are inexcusably bad.
"Metallic Butterfly" was surprisingly ahead of it's time. Though I don't think that Nokia's discography as a whole isn't aging very well, this one I come back to time and time again, and have so for years.
Where previous efforts like the "Slut Pop" EP's and albums like "Feed The Beast" felt generic at best, this album stands out with a lot of personality in both it's lyrics and it's production. We can finally see her realize her potential.
"Detour" is a beautifully distorted mess that talks about her struggles with her life, her creative career and her relationships.
