Didn't check this out when this released because of the Slayr concert... Mei Semones has always been in my saved artists after stumbling onto Animaru, but I'm just now checking her out and oh boy it's peak. Not a bad album by up and coming artist Girlfriend. This was in my saved albums and I decided to check it out, my first time listening to Girlfriend. It's not bad but not great. Yes, it's R&B but it is very basic. The lyrics are exactly what you'd expect from an R&B artist, almost copy pasted from a generic R&B lyric generator or something like that. While maybe not as good as her album released this year The Apple Tree Under The Sea, going... going... GONE! has plenty of good ideas that helped inspire the greatness of her 2026 release. Charm, emotion, passion, and humor was put into the project and Hemlocke Springs has a really fun vibe. Going to see her live tonight!

First of all, congrats on the baby and retirement. I acknowledge Latto is a talented rapper, but this album was pretty bloated. About half of the album she shows off her great flows, while the other half is boring R&B. It's hard to take some of these beats and bars seriously. Some of these lyrics are pretty atrocious, like sybau 21 Savage. I don't consider myself a massive Latto fan, but I like some of her music.
